OK, let's take a deep breath for a minute. I don't think for a minute that our country is about to break apart, or even go through spasms of disorder, if either McCain or Hillary become President. Didn't all of you read Jack's article some weeks back that our nation has survived some TRULY challenging upheavals, and yet here we all are in our strong and proud nation? There's plenty of deep dark secrets to go around, including Bill Clinton's treasonous behavior with the Russians when they threatened to make public his business with M. Lewinsky. Both Republicans and Democrats have lots of ammunition to use against each other. The point is, the public doesn't care anymore. They just want someone who can solve their problems, no matter which party he or she is from.

BTW, that comment about Duncan Hunter getting only 1% of the vote also says something - that the U.S. just isn't as conservative as we TTPer's are. Ideology is not as important as being seen as someone who can actually take care of bread-and-butter issues for the average American. I sometimes wonder if Ronald Reagan himself would get elected in this day and age.

Things are much, much worse than people are willing...(or are able), to psychologically confront.

In the past we had the world standard currency, we were the worlds leading economic & industrial society, had an overwhelmingly Christian & relatively homogenous society that deeply believed in the ethos of being American.

None of that is true any more.

The dollar is collapsing, (as is the world financial system...don't believe it? Why do you think that Bush+Reid+Pelosi are frantically pumping out checks to illegals & citizens alike, so that they can purchase more Chinese made goods & send more dollar transfers home to Mexico, in order to keep the world economy & trading system form collapsing?).

The rise of the PRC as a the new global superpower that is a DIRECT THREAT to our survival is something that is still being treated like the 'Emperor's New Clothes', or the 800lb Gorrilla in the corner....everyone is doing all they can to madly pretend it's not there, or isn't a mortal threat....(it is).

There is now a replacement currency, (The Euro) ready to take on the global role of the dollar...something that did not exist before, Russia is rearming like mad...while we are bogged down in the GWOT...China is arming like mad and is growing & expanding in a way technologically & industrially that will shortly eclipse the US, (not to mention under Clinton42, and since, their intelligence operations have successfully stolen most of our high tech military secrets).

We have porous, open borders, and NO control over who is in our country...the media & educational system have bred generations of 'Know-Nothings', whose default positions on all things is 'It's Americas Fault', and are thoroughly conditioned to the Globlist/Socialist agenda...

N. Korea, and soon Iran will have The Bomb, plus missile delivery systems of constantly increasing sophistication and range.

The U.S. is UTTERLY vulnerable to an EMP strike, meaning s single high altitude nuclear warhead over say, Kansas at roughly 500,000 feet would fry essentially ALL of our nations electronic infrastructure in microseconds...turning the U.S. back into an undeveloped country quicker than 'overnite'...(think of the aftermath of Katrina...times 10 thousand...w/ NO ONE to come to the rescue...no phone, no internet, no running water, no electricity, no refrigeration, no fuel or food deliveries...your car, (unless it's a late 60's model) will never run again...the supermarkets will not have refrigeration nor any incoming food deliveries...possibly for years.

Do the math.

This is not you Fathers or Grandfathers America...we are so EXQUISETLY vulnerable it's tragic.

I am all for the concept of having a positive attitude, something Dr. Jack & Dr. Wade have expounded upon frequently...but that only works if one is also realistic in the appraisal of the actual dimensions of the actual threat(s) we face...and the above list is an extremely abbreviated list of what those actually are...VERY abbreviated.

In my mind this is a big reason why this country has become so morally decayed. I am so thankful to my parents for instilling the conservative values I now hold, and I hope I have done half as much to pass these values on to my 4 sons. That could happen. And they had better hope the first strike works better than expected, because it would be their first and only chance. Anyone who launches a nuclear attack like that would have about 20 minutes to live. At least I hope that's still the policy, as it's the only reason we're still here.

I too remember what you said about news that would destroy McCain but didn't think it had been revealed yet. In light of the current election I had been thinking about asking you about it. So now we have the info. This is particularly interesting to me because I had heard from Col. Bo Gritz, several years ago, that McCain had cooperated with his captors. If I remember correctly, Col. Gritz also said McCain didn't accept an early release from captivity because he was told by other POWs "he better not " accept it.

Jack, by any chance, did you ever meet Bo Gritz? I think he was in Washinton DC for a while.

Okay Jack let me play devil's advocate for a moment.

Let's see you got some thin skinned, prissy US Senators who don't like to get yelled at ; you got a GRU teenager and GRU files; you got a drunk, retired, CIA has been looking for attention at Georgetown get togethers; you got whispering Washington lobbyists about some kind of menage a trois of wives or somethin or other bumping into Hillary's girlfriends in the lady bathrooms in the Senate ( and we thought all the action was in the Men's Rooms in the Senate) and your conclusion is that McCain is nuts.

I know you're thinking right now that I am the devil's spawn because my dad was agency in the 50s but can we begin a real conversation about the history of the CIA and its shortcomings of which there have been many through the years, but for goodness' sake, quit trying to cover-up W's incompetence by blaming the CIA for everything, you sound like an old Tass wire release. The CIA has no influence in the USCIS and that is the agency which has done more harm and exposed us to more danger than any other US government during the Bush adminstration, though the FBI and Justice may deserve honorary mentions for dereliction of their law enforcement responsibilities and Congress honorary mention just for being a collection of derelicts.

As for Ken T.'s book excellent in many parts, especially the parts he snatched from you on Goss, the Bremer-Chalabi sections and the WMDs coverage but overall it doesn't scale. Last paragrah in the book in the acknowledgement sections:

"As Shadow Warriors makes clear, if this president believes that the permanent bureaucracy is committed to his agenda, he is truly living in a fantasy world."

Well, if Ken T.'s book is spot-on, then George W. Bush has truly been out to lunch for his entire two terms and why is Ken T. so shocked that we have a permanent bureaucracy running amuck if the head of it is a blithering idiot.

• Supported declared wars that we fought to win?
• Supported the dignity of life?
• Championed freedom of speech?
• Defended the individual’s right to bear arms?
• Opposed warrantless searches and domestic spying, as prohibited by the Bill of Rights?
• Defended habeas corpus, as guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, and opposed torture?
• Combined a desire to win elections with a devotion to sound principles of government?

You are right on in your concise observation of America and its moral and military weakness if not just the US then certainly all of the Western Nato Nations.

All this election requires is to create a leader that sees an opportunity to turn everything into a secular panacea and blame the social amd military mess they have on "Look at what Christians nearly did to all of us!"

The best examples of Leadership in world history have always shown a leader who leads the people against a tangible enemy. Often the enemy was created...specifically to rally the people to arms and acceptance of the new threat.
It may seem simplistic but it worked for amoral leaders everywher ie. Kim Jong, Idi Amin, Stalin, Hitler. All had used their educational systems and the economy to rally theri support.
Liberalism/socialism in schools and universtities has prepared the majority to accept this kind of a leader.
What do we do if a new president sees all of this as an opprtunity to create an enemy (Christianity) and lead the people?

We now see that the top GOP candidates as well as the DEM's all have people that will either push the Liberal sled further down the slope, or ruthlessly use power for the furtherance of Liberal agendas. Potential leaders that will do nothing but further the erosion of the constituion.

I am afraid that the truly conservative voice is nothing more than a rock on the shore unable to stop the advance of the tide.
Most of us see ourselves sitting at the lowest ebb of the tide and what is coming threatens to drown everything.

The houses of government are the real hope - not whoever is president. There has to be a shift in the fiber of what makes a Senator or a Congressman. The public needs to see the reasons for electing people the type of which cannot be controlled by those who know of skeltons in closets. We need to elect candidates that had backbones, ethics, and clean track records before they entered Politics and will remain so while serving the Public. Until or unless we as a nation recognize and want morally clean leaders at the state, and federal level things will continue to deteriorate.
Many fortune 500 hundred companies will only hire CEO's that have a stable marriage track record. What does that tell you?

Instead American society and that includes Western society is tolerant...that Liberal comfort word of these days "tolerant" of others. Why?
Society is tolerant of immorality yet intollerant of those that stand against imorality as if that were imoral.
Society is tolerant of the most base "liesure time" pursuits as if mental pre-occupation with those base peersonal desires does not influence public decision making.
No one it seems is intolernat of things that are wrong.
In fact our youth (20 to 40 crowd) seems almost embarrased to say out loud what they think is right for fear they may become a social outcast.

The only way for any of this to change is the old fashioned way - personal sacrifice to become the leader people need and not be the "Good" person that says I dont want to be invovled in corrupt politics. Because if something is corrupt it will remain that way until good people get in there and change it.
We have what we have today because too many of the good people have let it become that way.
Remeber Billy Graham at Clintons inauguration said ' "The American people have the government they deserve."

I don't know all the facts related to McCain as a POW at the Hanoi Hilton. But I wouldn't be surprised if he sold out to the commies in Hanoi because his track record as Senator McCain shows that he's given in easy to his fellow Commiecrats. That's why I'm not voting for him.

My voting attitude this year is which candidate is least likely going to sell out American interests (McCain, the Hildebeest, & Hussein Obama will), which one is not so phony (add the Hucksterbee & Flip Flop Romney to the other three for serious phoniness) and who shows the most competence to lead (Sister Hilary Shrilling Shrieking Mary Elephant? Namby Pamby Obama? Unstable McCain? Huckster Huckabee? I'm not thrilled with Romney, but I'm much more unthrilled with the others.

My past voting pattern in recent presidential elections came down to voting for Bush not because I was madly in love with him, but because I madly couldn't stand the Phil Donahue hand wringing act that would have been found in Gore & Kerry if they had to deal with the 911 terrorist attacks.
