Sorry, this may even sound harsh to people here, but I don't feel that I have any obligation whatsoever to help anyone persue their dream. And consider it an insult that anyone would expect me to. If I help anyone persue their dream, it is done by my choice, not by force. I enjoy helping people in my family, so much so that it is often a bone of contention in my household. But his idea is to force it on me using guilt, pretending it is my obligation and by robbing me of my liberty, my life, my free choice and my money. To steal what is mine, to give to strangers I don't know.

While visiting my daughter recently, I think I talked her out of voting for Obama. Actually, I was quite shocked when she said she supported him. "I think it would be good to have someone with new ideas that wants to change things."
I said, "Yes, that would be good...IF his ideas WERE new and IF the changes he wants to make were changes FOR THE BETTER. But he's not offering anything that hasn't been tried and failed elsewhere." Fortunately, she knows that I have done some homework when it comes to issues, economics and politics, so she will at least consider my viewpoint.

I went to her College commencement in the Bay Area and the three Faculty speakers were all left wing loons. One of them started out by saying his family came into the country illegally. So the college gave him an honorary degree for his perseverance and his ability to skirt the law. One guy had to point out its everybody's responsibility to curb Global Warming and the third loser tried to equate justice with taking care of the needy worldwide: Justice = Socialism. If my butt hadn't been aching so much from sitting on the aluminum bleachers, I probably would have thrown up instead.

Well said and how right you are. Obama lies in the grand Clinton tradition. If he somehow gets elected, his very first act will be to utter the mother of all his lies… his oath of office. And, as you described, his supporters will be giggling with glee all the way to their political appointments, rubbing their hands in anticipation of finishing off traditional American values once and for all. I would expect nothing less from an enthusiastic defender of partial-birth abortion.

It seems that even the most conservative candidates tend to enact bigger government and more socialist entitlements once they win the job. Kind of scary to think what an actual Fidel era communist like Obama will do once he actually gets the job. Maybe destroy whatever business is fairly stuck here and can't easilly leave, and then make us all wards of the state. It might sound far fetched, but it IS the libs ultimate goal. Everything they say and do leads to that result.

Obambi scares the hell out of regular Americans--dem or republican. So maybe it's a good thing McCain is the nominee. I've talked with a number of dems who prefer McCain over Obambi. They think McCain is enough of a RINO he can be trusted as their president.

That does carry some logic. Wouldn't be nice if McCain was a stealth conservative? I'm not holding breath on that one.

The Democrats are finally being forced further out of the closet by current events and this particular campaign. With all their obstructionist positions on energy solutions, their hatred of free markets and personal responsibility, they are forced to reveal their true identity as the party of stagnation and death. No wonder they identify with sixty-century terrorists.
