It is important for there to be a real grassroots component to this. Since the Republicans took power, everything has seemed to come from Washington. Ordinary people are frustrated with our lack of will to win both here and abroad and many would like to do something, but have no outlet; many feel they are held in contempt by conservative leaders. I have recently heard of two people's different plans to start &quot;grassroots&quot; groups: Newt Gingrich and Tom DeLay. While both have admirable qualities, I am sure their groups, if they come about, will be highly centralized and be mostly vehicles for the agendas of their leaders. But fighting Islamofascism needs to be the job of everybody. If there are meetings, efforts should be made to bring in people from diverse areas, vocations, social classes, and even political orientations. The idea is to get people to understand that we are on a war footing, and that needs to involve everybody.
