I agree with Judy Warner that there has to be a really grass roots component to this.
The grass roots appeal is needed in order to galvanize those American Conservative minded individuals that exist in the Democratic side; those other Lieberman's who have not been expelled but are growing increasingly frustrated.

Karl Marx was the academic icon of Soviet totalitarianism and once stated "Religion is the Opiate of the people". I wonder weather or not we missed something.
After all we in the west would assume unthinkingly that opium is a banned substance. Therefore we would understand Marx indicating that religion/opium is to be banned. However if the Old Soviet now being resurrected under PUTIN is still yearning to dominate the world then perhaps Islam (a religion) is the prescribed drug to induce the people into the soviet vision of a One World order/government; albeit with a controlled substance/religion of a type that forces subjugation. A religion that when prescribed to the appropriate areas of the world body will provide the change desired.

Hitler too wanted world domination. He rallied his people around "lets get the Jews". I have trouble with the idea that Islam is really so disjointed. Islam has a focus that Moslems around the world either embrace or remain suspiciously silent about. Like the Nazis and Hitler before them Islam has a rallying cry of "lets get the Jews". Even today the so called atheistic former Soviet is less than accommodating to religious Jewish people. In the very early 1990’s Russian encouraged/forced the departure of over 1.4 million Jews. Soviet history shows they have always included the Jews as another religion to be slowly exterminated. Islam on the other hand of all religions seems to have more in common with Communist or National Socialist goals than with any other type of political culture.

Getting back to the grass roots appeal - That is the only way that the west can survive.
We need to find persons with ability such as absent Congressman Larry McDonald (D-GA) who was perhaps the most influential chairman of the grass roots John Birch society that ever led the organization. John Birchers were patriots, volunteering in the fight against Communism. Larry Macdonald was also one of the more insightful critics of Jimmy Carter’s thinking even though he was a Democrat. Grass roots appeal in the West truly was the greatest fear of Communism - really how do you control the zeal of patriotic volunteers? How do you control the freedoms of Christianity? The answer seen in the Regan years was that you couldn’t control it. Islam knows it has a way of control.

The 1992 meeting of the Spring Session of NATO was the first NATO meeting in History at which all of the former Soviet Satellites sent representative. At the various forums for the four-day event these delegates all echoed the same message. Each said that under the Communists they had experienced "Spiritual Deprivation”. These comments seemed to fall on deaf ears. What was not recognized by most of the NATO members was that these representatives of the former soviets satellites had equated the materialism and economic success of the west as being the rewards of Christianity or true religious freedom. To the largely humanistic membership of NATO the term "Spiritual Deprivation" was not truly understood. Sadly the humanism of Europe and Liberal minds of the west has in it a Spiritual vacuum that Islamic Bullying (albeit the Religion of Peace) is now capitalizing upon.

Marx may have said Religion is the opiate of the people but remember controlled/ banned drugs can be prescribed with great effect. Islam is such a drug. It has become advantageous to Mr. Putin along with several others to administer it to the body politic world wide.

One of the quickest ways to expose and marginalize Islam is to do things like the cartoon incident, and several movies like the one suggested, ANYTHING that will cause Muslims to riot in the streets. This will show just how fanatical they are and help accelerate the process of exposing them for what they are.

One idea I have is for an organized block of conservative lawyers to inhibit the progressive
assault on Christian principles in this country and beyond. A dedicated group with the clout, revenue and persistence to combat the siege we are under. Let’s encourage some of these legal patriots to combat ISLAMOFASCISM at every turn.
Who in government will pursue the tax relief of mosques that promote hate of the west?
How is it that Sharia can be promoted as Islam the religion of peace protected, while "In God We Trust" has be relegated to the edge of a new dollar coin by the treasury?
Is this not the beginning of a grassroots movement here to combat what Jack and Steve have nobly set out to accomplish?
