Let's celebrate, everybody! Not just today, but every day that we're privileged to be citizens of this great land. Another special time to celebrate will be August 24-26 in Colorado Springs, when all of us TTP'ers can get together with like-minded folks, and listen to Jack's and Joel's (and others' gems of wisdom firsthand!

Today as I appreciate the fair July weather, the beautiful flowers covering a field and the mountains of New England on the horizon, breathing deeply the fresh air of the country and feeling so proud to be an American and so blessed to have met some of you and certainly blessed to have discourse with all of you!

Friends this is a beautiful land from sea to shining sea,

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Today I got up, went out on to the front porch, and put up the flag we inherited from my wife's father, who as a sergenat in the U.S. Army slogged across Europe to a place called The Bulge, to pay Hitler back for what the Wermacht did to his native Norway.
Then as I have for many years, starting when my children were small, I read the preamble to the Declaration of Independence and recited (for an audience now of one) John Paul Jones, by Benet:
"It's the Ranger , it's the Yankee, it's that Devil John Paul Jones!
"Catch him, burn him, sink him! " Let them try.
They'll fish my cousin Davy from his seahorse guarded throne
Ere they blot my gallant topsails from the sky.

Long live the Glorious Fourth.

DITTO MARCO

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PRESIDENT BUSH!

FROM AN ITALIAN CITIZEN

This Italian citizen wishes to thank you and your strong nation for your remarkable presidency and for leading the free world unfazed by the campaigns of hatred of the coward and the bigoted.

I thank you for being a committed Christian and a man of prayer. What an example for our times when only PC cowardice and relativism seem to drive politicians!

I thank you for protecting America and keeping her at the head of the free world. That gives more hope than you would think to all those who understand the pillars of western civilization and see America as the last bastion of it.

I thank you for your stunningly consistent pro-life leadership that is not only strenghtening the culture of life in your noble nation, but also influencing the debate abroad! Do not believe that Hollywood is all that the world gets of America. If bad things do have an impact on us foreigners, good examples work ten times as much!

I thank you for the strong economy of your country, the amazingly low unemplyoment rate, the breathtaking growth of GDP in spite of two costly and far away war-fronts, the ever growing opportunities America offers to anyone willing to strive for a better tomorrow. Your economy is all that stands between our failing nearly-socialist systems in haughty and lazy Europe and depression. Thank you!

I thank you for your compassionate conservatism and for having provided the conservative movement with a chance to redefine itself in order to win today’s cultural wars. I am not worried by the obtusity of some conservatives. America has given to me enough proofs that she is a quick learner and that temporary setbacks only precede resounding victories.

I thank you for liberating Iraq and Afghanistan and for being the commander in chief of such a fine military. For fighting merciless butchers trying to never cross the line of moral rules that forbid to choose an easy victory at the cost of avoidable innocent victims. This is outstanding and will be praised and celebrated for years to come once the the bias of propaganda will have faded and reality will appear in its entirety. America is an example of morality even in war, and deserves to lead the world precisely because Americans have no desire to lead the world- much less at any cost - but only to be free and just under God, doing what needs to be done no matter what the rats squeak about when the eagle needs to fly.

I thank you and your wonderful First Lady for being so gracious to everyone, even those who normally insult you in the most offensive ways and whose lives and deeds make them unworthy of shaking hands with you and of calling themselves “Americans”.

Through you, I wish to thank the American people for having expressed their will in the only polls that count: two elections. I wish to thank every American soldier, the fallen and the mutilated first and then all others risking their butt for my freedom too, every mourning American family, and everyone in the USA resisting defeatism. Rest assured that there are many, many foreigners like me who admire you, pray for you and are are grateful for everything America doeas for everybody’s freedom.

Mr.President, you are the Commander in Chief of a great nation you’ve helped grow in greatness, and that alone would make anyone’s birthday an overwhelmingly happy day. But being the man you are, I know you would downplay your own merits and thank God for America instead. But today, let me thank YOU Mr. President, and happy birhtday!

— Fabrizio

John, Marco, Jack and all TTPers,

Well its a cool 115 degrees here in Phoenix and man these Corona's are ICE COLD and going down smooth. I know I'm drinking Mexican beer, but hey, when in Rome...

I just want you all to know that I appreciate every one of you. Your all great Americans.

We all contribute to America's greatness everyday. It only makes sense to celebrate that greatness as well.

God Bless America!

Post edited by: cephran, at: 2007/07/05 02:56
