THE KURDISH MAP 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 6
This thread discusses the Content article: THE KURDISH MAP

Hello Dr. Wheeler-

Thank you again for another fascinating article, I hope your travels are going well. I was recently in Israel and had the opportunity to engage Brig. Generals Yair Nafshi, Brig. Avigdor Kahalani and Nehemia Dagan in a conversation regarding the opportunities we have in the Kurdish people in terms of both Iran and the Middle East.

As military advisors to Israel and the United States I think they would be great assets to this very important opportunity. Do you have any suggestions on how we may able to better communicate to them the importance of supporting the Kurdish people?

Best regards,

Jaime Porras

I think it's inaccurate to say that Kurd's and their religion are tolerant to other religions. For example, these kinds of religions are tolerant towards christianity as long as it doesn't preach to them and debate with them on which religion is the truest. If christians in Kurdistan started to evangelise Kurds, whether muslim or ezidi or zaroastorian, the hypocritical piousness of kurds will be exposed as they'll start slaughtering those christians who claim that christianity is the only true religion in the world and only by it people can escape eternal hell and go to eternal heaven.
Can christians in Kurdistan claim that their God is the only true god and all other gods are false, and still be tolerated? I guess not. In america you can do so, and so in Europe, and Japan and australia and canada, but try to do it among the Kurds, and they'll hang you upside down.
And, by the way, in the 1915's armenian genocide, Kurds played a major role in stealing christian armenian girls and slaughtering their parents and enslaving their children. Read about the famous Jalaledin kurd, with 20 thousand kurdish murderous soldiers, who invaded armenian and greek villages and slaughtered and raped everyone. And by the way, these weren't the PKK kurds, these were the normal kurds. I know there are many reasons that could be used to blameshift kurdish crimes of the 19-20-th century, but history is a good testament of their deeds. Would you be so kind as to comment on these crimes of kurds Dr. Jack Wheeler?
Violence is in the kurdish blood, it's in their DNA. Currently Kurds are only humbled because they don't have much tools to express their true violent nature, and yes, they will most kindly welcome an American with open arms as long as that american can defend them with nice articles. I think it's a shame to speak good about kurds, the natural born murderers. Germany apologized to the whole world for their crimes, and so did the Japanese, Kurds still have to apologize for murdering armenians, why are they so silent? Jack, since you are in Kurdistan, would you remind kurds that they have forgotten to ask for forgiveness for their forefather's murderous campaigns against innocents, while they keep asking the world for Justice for crimes against themselves(kurds)
Saddam eliminated 200,000 kurds with chemical weapons, but Kurds helped turks to torture and kill 1.5 million armenian kids, women, elders, men, and youth. That's 200,000 kurds dead, 1.2 million still to go to make their crimes even.

X,
"Violence is in the kurdish blood, it's in their DNA."

I think we are all historically literate enough to realize yes the Kurds have "violence" in their blood just like the rest of the human race. I come from Irish stock, if I raised the BLOODY HANDS of the Evil English everytime someone says something positive about the English I think it would become a little tedious, not to mention that it might marginalize the value of my input to a rational discussion.

Jack's championing of the Kurdish cause is soundly grounded in historical fact and very laudable. We can only hope that American diplomacy can steer itself clear of the asses at foggy bottom and heed Jack's clarion call.

(I've been reading too much Keats and Wordsworth lately.)

Yes, a great article. The map of the proposed Future has one interesting item that was talked about previously on this site. If ever the Arab Shia State were to come into existance, just think of the Petro Power it would be. If I'm not mistaken they would be sitting on much, if not most, of the Gulf's oil. The temper of the government running such a country would be of prime concern to us.

It just may force us to wreck the world's petroleum-based economy by opening the fields around Gull Island, Alaska.
Hard metals (gold, silver, platinum) are the only sound basis for any currency, especially if you want it to last. Peg the dollar to gold and get rid of the FED, World Bank and IMF. Let the Rothschilds in Europe finance the world and its wars with their own money, not ours. We need to get back to the diplomacy of the founding fathers and away from the Keynesian economics of the FED and interventionist policies of most of the post-war presidents. We can trade, be friendly with those who will and dispatch those who would dare attack us financially or physically. Hell, Reagan scared the bejesus out of the Russian Commies and they spent themselves into oblivion trying to defeat Star Wars; with a minimum of actual warefare on the ground. On the other hand, JFK needed to 'man up' after getting his ass kicked by a bunch of Cubans and we ended up in the Viet Nam War. LBJ and his idiot advisors FUBARed that war and left Nixon holding a bag o' sh**. Carter virtually created the whole Middle East mess, and to this day is still stirring the pot o' sh** he cooked up in the 70's. Should have left the Shah of Iran in place; he was serving the united states well. There seems to be a pattern here, anyone except a college-educated liberal, can see. Clinton picked the wrong side, cozying up to the muslims in far south europe. I remember hearing that one of our more astute presidents once said to steer clear of any entanglements in the Balkans, right? Seems our more liberally oriented presidents always pick the enemies of freedom to fight for. I wonder why. As Dr. Jack says, is it just the 'evil eye'?

mwilhite has it right - I would add to his suggestions : off the UN! A lack of an apology for past Kurdish actions is no reason not to support their effort to form their own country. Their dislike for Christians, which can be expected to develop if/when they get their own country, will provide another opportunity for Christian endeavor/martyrdom. John Sawyer

I'm a devoted reader of Spengler in the Asia Times. His articles document the Kurdish land grab of the Armenian territories with the approval of the "Turkish" Turks at the end of the First WorldWar. Spengler writes extensively of the Iranian "Baby Bust". The birth rate of Iran is lower than Japan or Europe Their life expectancy is lower and there is no immigration. Despite the aggressive talk Iran is a dying country and this de-population will invite even more map redrawings.

The new map of the Middle East as Dr Jack saw it in the governor's office was designed by ret. Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and published in the Armed Forces Journal of June 2006. I'm attaching the map to this post.

This map is very visionary, and would undoubtedly be a more just arrangement of borders. The one thing that make me nervous about it is the real possibility that it would take a lot of spilt blood to create it.

You can just imagine the dictators in places like Iran and Saudi Arabia taking one good look at this map and screaming, "Over my dead body!". Whatever ...

@ Jack

The first time I saw this map, I think on TBJ, I thought it was impossible to achieve this.
At the other hand, I agree with Dr. Wheeler that the turmoil in the Middle East and the new security situation in Iraq could further such a solution.
Let's pray that it happens.

@ the people who fear for the Christians in Kurdistan: there is a very prosperous and well educated Christian community in Kurdistan and the Kurds respect them.
