This wonderful video by Penn & Teller is so instructive of just how mindless many environmentalists are. At an eco-festival, they are asked to sign a petition to ban the "dangerous chemical" di-hydrogen monoxide.
"It's in most everything we eat and drink and too much of it can be really dangerous, even kill you," the gullible petition signers are told. Not one of these fools bothers to ask any questions, such as just how is it dangerous and why, and what is dihydrogen monoxide anyway.
If they had so bothered, they would have been informed it is H2 - dihydrogen -- + O - monoxide: H2O, water.
