After having worked on the survey, it was touching for both Jack and me that you responded in such large
numbers. Thank you for your participation. We appreciate your taking the time
to tell us a bit more about you, your interests, and values. Since the survey, we've been reading and
evaluating your responses. It's overwhelming.
Rather than give you an interpretation
of the survey responses, here's the actual data. We have included a few
comments that are representative of those made. It has been rewarding,
interesting, and fun to read your comments and suggestions. The comments have
been 98%+ positive with some constructive suggestions that we are working on now.
Why Part 1? While we are providing you with the entire
overview of responses because there are thousands of comments, we are calling
this week's "Survey Summary - Part 1" and
next week we will have "Survey Summary - Part 2" with your
comments on the last three questions.

Question #1:
"Always
interesting and informative. Really feel like I'm getting knowledgeable and
expert inside information."
"I appreciate the
enlightenment of the news presented by the media and realize that we cannot
take anything on its surface. I appreciate information that I cannot get
anywhere else."
"Of all the
conservative sites I either read or subscribe to, I enjoy this the most. I
appreciate the humor and the intellectual level of your writings. I am also a
geography buff and I love Dr. Wheeler's travel stories and insights."
"To The Point News
is the very best. I print out and save every issue. On a scale of 1 to Ten, I
give ToThePoint a Twenty."
"I wait for new
articles to appear and read them immediately. Usually I check the TTP website a
number of times each week. For me, TTP is an absolutely critical source of
information."
"It has become
essential to getting the real story of our (rapid) descent into socialism aided
by a becoming-fascist government."
"With all of the
negative uninformed unbalanced undefined "news articles" out there I
get my rational balance with you. Your articles, and the comments by your
readers, either open my eyes or validate my own thoughts and opinions. To The
Point is the oasis in a desert of human madness."
"To the Point provides
news and commentary that is available literally nowhere else; an incomparable
source of information."

Question #2:
"The government is doing a power grab and we will pay a
terrible price not only for the deliberate totalitarian designs of the
democrats, but the impotence of Republicans."
"In the case of civil unrest I not concerned about safety
from the "mobs". I'm extremely concerned about safety and imposition
of some type of Marshall Law similar to what occurred in Katrina, Waco,
and the Elian Gonzales situation. Law enforcement like the BATF, FBI, State
Police and National Guard would basically be the new KGB. Gun owners and people
who demanded their constitutional rights would then be malcontents and
criminals that would have to be dealt with in the name of the law."
"I used to have over two hundred guns in my possession and
got rid of two years of accumulated food that I had in my basement, now I am
beginning to rearm myself as I only have eight weapons on hand with ammunition
to feed them for quite a while. I will not submit easily. After 45 years of a
prestigious career, I am ready to chuck it all and become a wolverine!
"I am most concerned about stopping the trend NOW. Take back
the Congress in 2010. The American Tea Party--and other challengers--is a
start."
"I see nothing good happening for several years unless we can
get a conservative movement (not the Repubs) with strong leadership. We could
turn this around very quickly if we went to a gold backed dollar, opened
drilling everywhere and built nuclear power stations to become energy
independent. And of course, balance the budget."
"I'm worried that the pendulum is swinging toward more and
more government control of what should be private endeavors. And worst of all,
Republicans have no one to blame but their own incompetent elected leaders and
their atrocious performance during their time in control of both the White
House and Congress."
"I am very concerned that the U.S. may confiscate gold and firearms. How is one to protect
themselves against such an act?"
"This nation was founded on the premise that the basic rights
of mankind are not some ‘grant' from a benevolent government, they are endowed
by our Creator. In the last few decades, our "benevolent government"
(Democrat and Republican) has worked to overthrow that concept and to whittle
down those basic rights, all the while spouting the virtues and values that
they are in fact willfully destroying. It's all about control with the
government, make the people dependent and you make them submissive."
"I am concerned about the wholesale charge towards fascism,
and whether capitalism will be able to recover once we kick this regime out. I
am concerned about our ability to recover the huge deficits we are building up.
I am concerned about our war on Islamic terrorism. I am concerned that America may well be attacked again. I am concerned that America may abandon Israel. I am concerned that America may never recover from this monstrous mistake."
"I'm a Canadian. Until recently I thought the US was the place to live and regretted I did not. The other
day I found myself, for the first time, grateful I did not."
"I am scared to death of this Obama Administration. The
Federal deficit disaster, coupled with the expected sky high income, estate and
death taxes will result in the collapse of our economy and Country."
"As a senior citizen I am very afraid."
"I'm concerned for what my children and grand children will
have to face."
"I am concerned that the country I love, whose uniform I
wore, will cease to exist in any recognizable form."
"Although we have concerns over the possibility of civil
unrest, we do not feel as impacted where we live and because we are prepared to
take care of ourselves in the event of unrest. We believe that it is likely
within 2 years for the whole thing to crash and for unrest commencing like one
has never seen before on a national scale in this country. The country is in
the deepest trouble since the fighting with the American Revolution."
"I am taking a
rational approach to the changing events. I am angry and passionate in my
opinions of the changes taking place in our country, but my preparations are
definitely at a heightened awareness."
