THIS IS NO ACCIDENT, COMRADES |

In London last
week, I had dinner with an old friend, Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, one of the
world's most well-known journalists who currently writes the financial news
column for the Daily Telegraph.
A few days later (7/04), Ambrose unloaded a column that made
a headline on Drudge, that the US
is headed for a repeat
of the 1932 Great Depression.
Here's the question to make sense of this: Did the Great Depression result in an
expansion of economic freedom or an expansion of government control?
It's a rhetorical question, of course. The Great Depression ushered in a sea-change
shift away from individual liberty to massive unconstitutional government
interference in American lives. It also
launched the Democrats' monopoly control of political power in Congress, most
specifically in the House where all the money is initially spent, that lasted
sixty-two years, from 1932 to 1994.
We are now on the verge of a Second Great Depression. As the apparatchiks
in the Kremlin of the Soviet Union would say when
confronted with a curious convergence of events, "This is no accident,
Comrades."
One should always be exceedingly suspicious of conspiracy
theories, bearing in mind the requirement that extraordinary claims must
provide extraordinary evidence. There is
no such evidence, e.g., that the 2008 financial meltdown was caused on purpose
by the Bush Administration, rather than gargantuan incompetence.
There is no such evidence regarding the impending economic
meltdown of the European Union. Spain,
for example, with a GDP of $1.6 trillion, is in the hole for over $2 trillion
in household, company, and sovereign debt.
Spain's
Treasury is now paying 6.6% on debt roll-overs and that rate is climbing. Bambi Zapatero does not want this. It's that at long last, he, like the rest of Europe's
socialists, has finally run out of other people's money.
The same goes for all our bankrupt states, like Illinois
and California. Illinois
is facing immediate "outright disaster," while California
is so bad off it needs to pay 200,000 state employees the minimum wage. The Dems running these states do not want
this. They want the gravy train to keep
running, not run off the tracks.
For the Dems in DC, however - Reid, Pelosi, Frank, Rahm
Emanuel, Zero, their minions and handlers like Soros - it is different. They do want this. They do want massive unemployment and
economic collapse, an outright Second Great Depression worse than the First.
The evidence is that their every action without a single
exception has made our economy worse, not better. If their actions were caused by random
incompetence and cluelessness, then the odds would be high that some actions
would have done some good.
And the obverse: they
have done nothing, not one single thing, designed to improve employment (real
jobs, not government moocher jobs) and prosperity. This is no accident, comrades. They haven't done anything to genuinely
improve the economy because they don't want to improve the economy. They want poverty because for them
poverty=power, power for them.
When Ronald Reagan was inaugurated president in January
1981, he inherited an economic basket case from Jimmy Carter. He didn't endlessly whine about how what he
had on his hands was not his fault, and he didn't enact policies and programs
designed to drive the economy into a deeper hole.
No, he accepted the responsibility that he had asked for in
getting elected, worked as hard as he could to not only get us out of the hole
Carter had dug us into, but to make us more prosperous than ever. He succeeded, launching one of the greatest
economic booms in US
history.
(In the first Carter-Reagan presidential debate, Carter
asked Reagan, "Why do you want my job?"
Reagan quickly responded, "I don't want your job. I want to be president.")
Ever since he was inaugurated in January 2009, inheriting an
economic basket case from his predecessor, Zero has done the absolute exact
opposite of Ronald Reagan - which is why he is failing. Or is he?
He is certainly failing at re-launching the American
economy. But what if he defines his
success to the extent he makes our economy worse, not better? Yes, as someone who is not an actual
American, someone who truly and deeply hates our country, his goal is to ruin America
as much as he can.
Yet this goal dovetails with that of the Democrat
Party's: the continuance and expansion
of its political power. A Second Great
Depression is the Democrat Party's path to power.
Are you thinking, aha, but wait until November 2nd? We'll kick these evil Dems out and spoil
their dream! Electoral retribution this
November is our dream. What could the
Dems do to spoil it?
I have lost count now of the number of predictions being
made of a GOP "tsunami" in November.
Serious political analysts, soberly and without hyperbole, are saying
that Dem losses in the House, Senate, Governor's mansions, et al, are likely to
be of "historic" proportions.
And every one of them unfailingly comes with a caveat,
something along the lines of, "barring some huge unexpected disaster for the
GOP." Now, if you were Rahm Emanuel,
what would that caveat cause you to think about?
It's time to re-read Will Obama Go To
Oklahoma? from a year ago last August.
Our country is faced with an impending economic catastrophe,
a Second Great Depression. It is being
brought about on purpose by a political party that cares only for keeping and
expanding its power, and looks upon prosperity as a threat to that power.
That party is now being threatened with being thrown out of
power. If that party is evil enough and
fascist enough to cause an economic catastrophe, it is certainly evil and
fascist enough to cause a physical catastrophe, an Ultimate October Surprise,
that will frighten and enrage voters enough to preserve its power in November.
What could this be?
The most likely would be another 9/11, a massively horrific terrorist
attack, perhaps even nuclear. An attack
for which no one or no group will claim responsibility, no Al Qaeda, no Osama
bin Laden, no Timothy McVeigh - just a plethora of pointed fingers at a
multitude of suspects, without any sufficiently hard evidence to implicate one
in particular.
It will be enough to raise suspicion about the dangerous Tea
Party people and anyone who is "anti-government," enough for people to rally
around their Zero-led government in fear and confusion.
Conspiracy theorists who believe that our own government,
led by President Bush, perpetrated the First 9/11 attack on America
are fruitcake kooks. A part of their
brain is unhinged. But if there is a
Second 9/11 attack on America
this October, and worse than the first, the fully rational response will be to
accuse our own government, led by President Zero, of perpetrating it.
The rational response will be to say, This is no accident,
comrades.
Let's recap. There
will be an October Surprise pulled off by the Dems, of that we can be
sure. It has to be national in scope,
and overwhelming enough to overcome the GOP tsunami. The most obvious candidate to do the job
would be a Second 9/11, even a Nuclear 9/11 - which also would have the added
advantages of accelerating US economic collapse and providing further
rationales for emergency government powers.
So - what preventative action can be taken to either head it
off at the pass, or neutralize its political benefits?
First, such a preventative strategy should not be
narrowly-focused, aimed at just one candidate like a Second 9/11, but should be
comprehensive, targeted to block or neutralize most any October Surprise.
Second, this comprehensive counter needs to have two
components. One is the message of
anger: get the Dems to understand that
whatever they are planning in October, all it will serve to do is make
TeaPartyers, conservatives, and independents - a majority of voters - mad. It will serve to increase their anger, not
deflect it. So an October Surprise will
do no good and will even be counter-productive.
Two is the message of blame:
get the Dems to understand that whatever they are planning in October,
they will be blamed for it. It will be
their fault for allowing it to happen, or for trying to pull off a dirty trick.
TeaPartyers and conservatives should, then, begin a campaign
right now and carry it through all the way to Election Day. Write letters, send e-mails, take out
open-letter ads in local papers, etc., to the Dem National Committee, Dem pols
local to national, and Admin Dems like Rahm Emanuel telling them:
Hey, Democrats! Thinking of saving yourselves in November
with an October Surprise?
Fuhgetaboutit! You'll just make
your defeat worse.
The message should go on to explain how nothing they do is
going to work. It need not accuse them
of plotting any specific act, just tell them that whatever they are plotting,
it will fail, serving only to enrage voters against them.
Millions of such messages delivered ever week from now to
November 2nd may convince even Rahm Emanuel to abandon the evil he
and his fellow Dems are planning.
And then, on an Election Day that has seen no October
Surprise but a Dem Demolition instead, we can all congratulate ourselves and say
to each other, This was no accident, Comrades.
