FLASHBACK FRIDAY: RIDING A YAK AT RANGDUM

yak-riding-at-rangdum Rangdum Gompa, Zanskar, August 1993. Ever ridden a yak? Brandon did when was 10 at the Rangdum Tibetan Monastery or Gompa atop a small hill at 13,225 feet high in an extremely remote region of the Himalayas in India called Zanskar. It was part of our Indian Tibet expedition which will be repeating soon – and this time Brandon will be leading the expedition. I’ll just be along for the ride. CARAVAGGIO’S MEDUSA

caravaggios-medusaThis masterpiece, of Rennaisance painter Caravaggio (1571-1610) was completed in 1597 and hangs in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence where I took this picture. It is a genius portrayal of one of the most legendary Greek myths, the demigod hero Perseus slaying the gorgon monster Medusa. She was thought unconquerable with her head of snakes, for anyone who gazed upon her was turned to stone. Yet Perseus chose to battle her with a shield that was a bronze mirror on the outside. Thus when they fought, she saw herself in the shield’s reflection, turning herself into stone. The painting depicts the moment of horror she realizes what has happened, which Caravaggio painted on a simulated shield.

A visit to the Uffizi is an absolute must should you ever visit Florence. (Glimpses of Our Breathtaking World #279 photo ©Jack Wheeler)

A FATHER IN CHAD

chadThis is the most anti-Marxist picture I have ever taken. I am a White American. He is a Black African in N’Djamena, Chad. And those differences mean nothing compared to our both being fathers.

Look into his soul through his eyes. Look at the tranquility and peaceful joy his soul feels in being the father of his two beautiful children. It is the same with me.

The Left’s purpose is to divide us into tribal differences of hate – white vs. “people of color,” rich vs. poor, employers vs. workers, exploiters vs. exploited, victimizers vs. victims, the anti-white racist hate of Critical Race Theory. Always, always, they focus exclusively on differences, to separate people apart, to hate other different than them. All in the ancient “divide and conquer” scheme to control people’s lives.

Yet the differences between us are so unimportant compared to what we all have in common, our basic humanity. The bond that I have with this man from Chad is so much greater than anything that separates us. Focusing on what we all have in common with our fellow human beings is the way to rid the world of the anti-human hate of the Marxist Left. THE PARADISE OF ZIHUATANEJO

zihuatanejo-paradiseOnce a small Mexican fishing village far from everything, Zihuatanejo (zee-wah-tan-ay-ho) – Zee-wat to locals – has become a paradisical escape hatch for many seeking refuge from our pressure-cooker world. 150 miles up the northwest coast of Acapulco, Zee-wat is its own world of peace and serenity.

Stroll on the beach or along the Paseo del Pescador (Fisherman’s Path) with its shops, bars, and restaurants unbothered. Just relax surrounded by flowers, warm water, and blue sky. All the worries elsewhere in Mexico, much less in the US or anywhere else are not here.

The time to come is coming up, the dry season November-May. Prices are a bargain with the peso 5 cents to the dollar. Non-stop flights from multiple cities in the US and Canada. Just a few days here will do wonders for your soul. (Glimpses of Our Breathtaking World #182 photo ©Jack Wheeler)

THE FORTRESS OF LUXEMBOURG

luxembourg-fortressOriginally built upon Roman fortifications on a rocky promontory in the 900s by the Counts of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Fortress gained strategic importance located between the French Kingdom and the Hapsburg Empire. By the 1600s it became so impregnable it was called the “Gibraltar of the North.”

It was fought over by so many armies that finally, in establishing the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg’s full independence and neutrality in 1867, Luxembourgers agreed to tear it down.

What you see here is what is left, and is now a World Heritage Site. The Chemin de la Corniche – the promenade along the top of the ramparts overlooking Alzette River and the Old City – is renowned as “Europe’s most beautiful balcony.”

Wedged between France, Belgium, and Germany, small 1,000 square-mile Luxembourg is a haven of peaceful beauty. Come here to stand on these ramparts to experience it yourself. (Glimpses of Our Breathtaking World #233 photo ©Jack Wheeler)

LOGO UPDATE! DEMOCRAT DONKEY NOW CARRYING SNIPER RIFLE

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In an update to make the party's longtime insignia more accurate in reflecting its modern platform and constituency, Democrats unveiled a new logo featuring a donkey holding a sniper rifle.

Following a rash of violent crimes perpetrated by members of the political left, the Democrat Party held a closed-door meeting that determined adding a sniper rifle to the logo would best depict what the party stands for and who it represents.

"It's the perfect illustration of what our party stands for," said Ken Martin, head of the Democrat National Committee. "Everyone has known the donkey as the Democrat mascot for decades, but we felt that it no longer conveyed the message of who we are as a party. Giving the donkey a sniper rifle gives us a harder edge while letting everyone know what our party stands for in 2025."

Prominent Democrats believe the updated logo would make the party's agenda clearer to voters. "When you're running political campaigns, it's important to make your message as clear as possible," said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. "We're the party of threats, violence, and murder, so it's only right for our logo to accurately reflect that. There's also a ‘Vote for us, or else' vibe to it, which is perfect."

At publishing time, Democrats had made the logo even more modern and inclusive for its current supporters by revealing that the sniper rifle-carrying donkey depicted was actually a male donkey that underwent gender reassignment surgery so it could pretend to be a female donkey.

HALF-FULL REPORT 09/19/25

Has any US President and his First Lady ever been treated so royally?  King Charles pulled out all the stops to welcome POTUS and Melania so lavishingly.  Realize that not just has no US President been granted a second State Visit by a British Monarch before this, no world leader ever has in British history. His first was with Queen Elizabeth II in 2019.

The NT Post has this photo-essay (9/17): Trump And Melania Warmly Welcomed By Prince William, Princess Kate, King Charles And Queen Camilla At Windsor Castle With Lavish Royal Procession.

We can revel in this, and enjoy the Schandenfreudeliciousness of how it must drive all Dem Woketards and the TDS-infected out of their minds with resentment and envy.  Imagine, for example, the bottomless bitterness Michelle Obama and Jill Biden must feel seeing Melania treated like a Queen…

…Now, before we go any further – I must attempt to say something adequate regarding Mike Ryan’s masterpiece HFR last Friday: Half-Full Report 09/12/25.

THE EXPONENTIAL CURVE OF FASCIST UNCONSTITUTIONALITY

Roscoe Filburn
Roscoe Filburn

[This Monday’s Archive was originally published on April 8, 2010. It is a must-read for all conservatives today so they understand how critically important it is to support President Trump’s efforts to break this curve. There is, however, an additional reason for choosing this 2010 article as an Archive today. It is that the events of the last few days have horrifically shown that the Democrats and the Left are on an Exponential Curve of Fascist Immorality. It is for very good reason that Elon Musk refers to the Dems as “the Party of Murder.” Their celebration of Charlie Kirk’s murder is beyond depravity. Let us know your thoughts on this in the TTP Forum.]

TTP April 8, 2010

Let me tell you about a farmer outside of Dayton, Ohio, named Roscoe Filburn.  He planted 23 acres of wheat, and harvested 462 bushels – which exceeded his allotment under the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938 by 239 bushels.

For this violation of a Federal Act, he was fined $117.11, which he refused to pay.  He grew the wheat for his own private consumption – primarily to feed his chickens.  Since the constitutional justification for the Agricultural Adjustment Act was Congress’ power to regulate interstate commerce, and since the wheat was grown for private consumption and thus not involved in commerce at all much less interstate commerce, farmer Filburn argued he was exempt from the law.

The Federal District Court in Ohio agreed.  The government appealed and took the case to the Supreme Court.  After less than a month of deliberation, the Justices reached their decision.  By a vote of 9 to 0, they unanimously found Filburn guilty.  Their reason:

IRYNA ZARUTSKA, CHARLIE KIRK, AND THE DEMOCRAT PARTY

Democrat Woke Zombies
Democrat Woke Zombies

Three recent events have underscored the catastrophic erosion of the foundational tenets of the United States and the anti-Americanism of the Democrat Party.

The first is the brutal murder of a young woman in Charlotte, N.C., Iryna Zarutska. The second, the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The third, sitting Democrat senator Tim Kaine’s declaration reflecting a fundamental belief within the current Democrat Party that the government is the source and, thus, the final arbiter of all human rights.

Over the centuries, those that deem the state is paramount and, thus, the source of all rights, believe granting, limiting, or denying these rights is the sole discretion of the state based on what the state defines as the greater good.

When the state refuses to recognize the unalienable or God-given rights of its citizens, its society is beset with turmoil and its culture is fraught with no respect for the life, liberty, and property of its individual citizens.

In the case of Iryna Zarutska deference to the perpetrator’s race was more important to the state than her life or liberty. The deliberate creation of an environment wherein the unalienable property right of speech is not tolerated or recognized directly led to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

WAS THE CURRENT MADNESS BIRTHED IN OUR UNIVERSITIES?

Madness at Columbia University
Madness at Columbia University

America is currently sick.

The young conservative organizer and media personality Charlie Kirk was just murdered in a political assassination by a 22-year-old ‘anti-fascist’ (Orwellian double-speak for ‘pro-fascist) and trans advocate, Tyler Robinson.

As planned, he eliminated the most astute and successful political activist in a generation. Indeed, Kirk may well have ensured that Donald Trump won the 2024 election by not just increasing his youth vote by 6 percent since 2020 but, more importantly, by margins in the swing states of 15-24 percent, ensuring Trump’s victory.

No sooner was he killed than thousands on left-wing social media erupted in celebration—among them scores of teachers and professors. Their venom was eerily reminiscent of their earlier canonization of left-wing murderer Luigi Mangione. Who are the culprits responsible for this madness?

BE CAREFUL OF THE CORNERED DEMOCRAT RAT

We all know that when you corner an animal, it will fight tooth and nail for its survival.  This means that even supposedly meek creatures will defend themselves with a surprising level of frenzy and violence.  The choice for any cornered creature facing death is to go out with an all-out snarl.

This is where the Democrat party movement finds itself.  Snubbed at the polls, cut off from sub rosa USAID sustenance, humiliated time and again by the ever adroit Donald Trump, and hemorrhaging its plantation BIPOCs, the party has resorted to obscenities, outright antisemitism, and the defense of criminals everywhere (including drug-runners on the Caribbean Sea) as its tonic for combating The Donald.

Our commonsense hope that the Democrats would finally wake up and realize how much their foaming-at-the-mouth hatred, projection, trans adoration, scenery-chewing (Hakeem Jeffries), and irrationality (Stephen King) is costing them has been dashed.  Charlie Kirk’s murder did that.

Now we stand in the bright light that brings clarity.  The Democrat party has been taken over by nihilists, distorted beings who aim to bring us, our country, and our civilization down to ruin.  Any hope that so-called moderate Democrats might amass their collective huevos and rally to the defense of their country flickered out on September 10, 2025.

What’s going to happen now will be actions and counteractions that move us closer to, God forbid, a hot civil war.

LET’S GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT

For years Democrats have been accusing conservatives of being cruel, heartless individuals. Our crime? Believing in God, the Church, the family, the country, the Constitution, and the rule of law.

Their attempts to claim the moral high ground has led them to institute "restorative justice," where people credibly accused of criminal acts are released without bail. They've instituted policies allowing millions of unvetted, unvaccinated individuals from third-world countries to be welcomed into the country and hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied immigrant children to go missing in four years.

We've watched while Catholic churches were vandalized and burned because we oppose abortion. We've seen normal American citizens called Nazis while obese, hairy drag queens read graphic pornography to kids in public libraries.

We've had enough. The Left has accused us of being intolerant because we object to their lawlessness and depravity. The Left has been using Saul Alinsky's playbook to beat us into submission, and it's time we returned the favor.

BRITAIN RISES: A PATRIOTIC AWAKENING THE ESTABLISHMENT CANNOT CONTAIN

Something fundamental shifted in Britain on September 13, 2025.

In the heart of London, a sea of flags unfurled and hundreds of thousands...no, millions of ordinary men and women marched together for an idea: That Britain must remain Britain, that its borders must be defended, and that its culture, heritage, and people deserve respect. Or else.

Naturally, the mainstream press dutifully downplayed the numbers, claiming “just” 110,000 to 150,000 attended. But I was there, and I can assure you that nobody who was there believes it. It was far larger, at least one million, but probably nearer three. And it did not appear out of nowhere.

It was the culmination of months of patriotic ferment across the country; anti-illegal immigration protests outside migrant hotels, towns and villages covered in Union Jacks, lamp posts wrapped in flags, and St. George’s Crosses painted defiantly on roundabouts, all exploding into London, shaking Britain’s rotten ruling class to its core.

RUSSIA RETURNS TO STALIN

One of many new statues of Stalin in Russia
One of many new statues of Stalin in Russia

On September 11, Russian scholarly journal Russia in Global Affairs highlighted a new research project, “Russia’s Living Idea-Dream: The Code of the Russian in the 21st Century.”

The project aims to build on a similarly titled report published by Sergey Karaganov, one of the founders of the Russian Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, and his like-minded colleagues (Faculty of World Economy and World Politics, July 11).

Karaganov’s work is meant to codify a renewed set of norms for Russian citizenship and identity in the making of a new world order (Russia in Global Affairs, July 2025). It aspires to become a new moral-political guide for Russian society; an analogue of Soviet ideals adapted to modern conditions.

The new Russian code has come to the forefront of public debate at a time of marked resurgence in rehabilitating Stalin’s image. This rehabilitation has manifested in the installation of new monuments to the Soviet dictator and favorable public statements from Russian officials.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY – DIVING IN A GALAPAGOS FISH BALL

jw-diving-in-galapagosGalapagos Islands – November 2015. In the waters here, enormous schools of striped mullet swim together in one huge swirling ball by the tens of thousands.

One of the more astounding experiences a scuba diver can have is to swim far below one of these rotating living balls, then slowly rise straight up into it. The fish do not scatter, but merely create an empty column or vertical tunnel for you – so you float inside the ball with countless thousands of calm unperturbed fish circling around you and your dive buddy (who took this picture of me).

I’ve had the good fortune to go diving all over the world for the past sixty -plus years, and this experience is surely one of the most memorable of all. (Glimpses of Our Breathtaking World #140 Photo ©Jack Wheeler)
