THE DOUBLE-D STRATEGY FOR RESCUING AMERICA

A friend of mine lives in Kona on the Big Island in Hawaii.  He has a fishing boat which he proudly named the 44-DD after a spectacular feature of his wife's anatomy.  This is not about that sort of Double-D.

While it may be difficult to keep your mind off what that spectacular feature might look like - just as it's hard to comply with the demand that you not think of a pink elephant - let's try and focus on a Double-D that can rescue our country from the clutches of the Fascist Democrat Party and the destruction being wrought upon it by President Zero.

So - what does this Double-D stand for? It's a strategy for any Republican wanting to get elected or re-elected to Congress in 2010, and for any Tea Partyer wanting to take individual action now against a government that ignores the Constitution.   Double-D stands for...

TO THE POINT CHRISTMAS SHOPPING

I'd sure like to make a suggestion for an ideal Christmas gift for someone you really care about:  a membership in To The Point

Just click on that link and you can sign up a friend for a wonderfully memorable and enlightening month's membership for less than ten bucks - or for those you really care about, a full year.

I'd also like to suggest you consider products made by your fellow TTPers.

There's WineStar crystal wine glasses offered by Ed & Susan Sanders.  They beat Reidel hands down.  You won't believe how much better wine tastes with Ed & Susan's stemware.  They make a great way to celebrate the Christmas-New Year's holidays, any other holiday, and life every day.

Alex & Laurie Alexiev have 800 olive trees on four acres on their ranch near Paso Robles, California that produce the best-tasting, highest quality olive oil you've ever had.  Their Allure Estates Liquid Gold Tuscan-style extra-virgin oil has now won numerous awards.  You can gift yourself with a bottle, as well as your friends.

Then there's my sister Judy (an avid TTPer!), with her marvelously illustrated children's book, Jessica The Furry Baroo, that's such a fun way to impart a love of nature and the critters in it to kids.

Of course, there's Dr. Joel Wade's new book, Mastering Happiness.  What a great gift for anyone you want to be happy!

HOW CONSERVATIVES ARE GOING TO GET IN BED WITH NANCY PELOSI

How many times have you heard that old adage, "politics makes for strange bedfellows"?  But no matter how many times that's been, you're not going to believe how many conservative Republican Members of Congress are about to jump in bed with Speaker Pelosi.

One of the things that most drives these folks around the bend is the sell-out of their party's principles to Country Club Corporate America.  They can't stand Big Business's addiction to cheap labor.  It's an addiction that blocks effective attempts to stem the flood of illegal alien immigration from Mexico, or to stem the flood of trade deficit dollars to China.

The list of issues that conservatives in the House will oppose Pelosi on seems endless, and amnesty for illegals plus refusing to fence them out is certainly one of them.  But there is one issue not on that list, an issue of the gravest national security on which they are sure cooperation with her is possible.

That issue is...

AHMADINUTJOB

The Mahmoud Ahmadinejad interview in Der Spiegel has its moments, to be sure, but overall it's about what you would expect. He's an uncultured fanatic who will never admit error but simply reassert his lies.  We should transliterate his name from Farsi as Ahmadinutjob. (Thanks to Ariel Cohen of the Heritage Foundation for this suggestion.)

He's not at all interested in what we call "the pursuit of the truth," so there is no real interview or dialogue (the crowd calling for negotiations with this regime ought to study this text, because if they do it seriously they will realize that you cannot negotiate with these people).

He constantly projects Iranian political culture onto the rest of the world, which is what you would expect from an uncultured ideologue. And it's astonishing to watch the Spiegel interviewer fall into one rhetorical trap after another.

In many ways, the interview is noteworthy for its exposure of the fecklessness of a German interviewer facing an Iranian bully.

SONY SPYWARE BACKLASH

In certain movies and TV shows, the background music is almost as important as the show itself.

Music plants itself in the mind and memory as no visual image can, so a movie or TV show about life in the Sixties will, as a matter of course, have background tunes to evoke memories of the era. It's amazing how long-forgotten songs can bring back powerful memories - and, of course, sell more tickets. Proving that, in the final analysis, what we really get when we buy a CD is an "experience" - a memory and a feeling that can last a lifetime.

And that's all we need, as far as Sony Music (known nowadays as Sony BMG) is concerned. In what can only be termed a "scandal," it was revealed last week that the Sony people took extreme steps, to the point of jeopardizing customer's computers, to ensure that the only thing you'll retain when playing one of their CDs is the memory of the music - and not, heaven forbid, a copy of it.

ARAB CIVILIZATION HAS COLLAPSED

With his decision to use force against the violent extremists of the Islamic State, President Obama is doing more than to enter a quagmire. He is doing more than play with the fates of two half-broken countries-Iraq and Syria-whose societies were gutted long before the Americans appeared on the horizon.

Obama is stepping into the chaos of an entire civilization that has broken down.

Arab civilization, such as we knew it, is all but gone. The Arab world today is more violent, unstable, fragmented and driven by extremism-the extremism of the rulers and those in opposition-than at any time since the collapse of the Ottoman Empire a century ago.

Every hope of modern Arab history has been betrayed. The promise of political empowerment, the return of politics, the restoration of human dignity heralded by the season of Arab uprisings in their early heydays-all has given way to civil wars, ethnic, sectarian and regional divisions and the reassertion of absolutism, both in its military and atavistic forms.

With the dubious exception of the antiquated monarchies and emirates of the Gulf-which for the moment are holding out against the tide of chaos-and possibly Tunisia, there is no recognizable legitimacy left in the Arab world.

Is it any surprise that, like the vermin that take over a ruined city, the heirs to this self-destroyed civilization should be the nihilistic thugs of the Islamic State? And that there is no one else who can clean up the vast mess we Arabs have made of our world but the Americans and Western countries?

HALF-FULL REPORT 05/09/14

We start with this Urgent Announcement from Carol Bundy, wife of Nevada's Patriot Rancher Cliven Bundy

Please make your way to Blanding Utah this Saturday May 10th 9AM to protest the BLM Closure of Recapture Canyon.

Blanding has been the site of many BLM overreach efforts, including the horrific BLM SWAT team raids that resulted in the deaths of three Blanding residents.

County Commissioner Phil Lyman has organized a peaceful ATV ride into "Recapture Canyon".  This Canyon was "temporarily" closed over 7 years ago by the BLM.  You do not need an ATV to participate.

We need to help the people of Blanding re-establish who is in control of the land.  This is your next stand.  Will you be there to help them like you helped us?  Please make the trip to Blanding, we need to keep sending the message loud and clear wherever the BLM is illegally asserting its power.  Thank you, Carol
A message with direction and map from San Juan County Commissioner Lyman is appended[1] at the end of this HFR.  Blanding is in the Four Corners region where Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona meet.  For any TTPers anywhere near - Taos, Phoenix, even Denver - try to be there.

The BLM - Bureau of Land Management - unconstitutionally controls over 270 million acres or 422,000 square miles of "public" lands.  That's an area as large as Texas and California combined, or twice the size of France.  It has morphed into a Fascist Police State agency of militarily-armed Gestapo goons.

The people of Blanding and all San Juan County are so totally fed up with federalie BLM fascism that San Juan County Sheriff Rick Eldredge personally went to the Bundy ranch in Mesquite, Nevada, to ask for their support.  Thus this plea from Carol Bundy.

This is incredibly short notice, yes - but try to be there if at all possible.

HOW MUCH OF OUR GOVERNMENT IS SIMPLY LEGALIZED CORRUPTION?

If a politician or government official takes a direct monetary bribe for granting a favor or sweetheart contract, do you think he should be sent to prison?

Such an illegal activity is despicable, but it is usually far less costly to society than the legal forms of corruption, which undermine the integrity and respect for government that is necessary for a civil and prosperous society. Most legal corruption is all about increasing power for those in government.

This past Friday (2/28), the following amendment offered by Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, was defeated in the Senate Judiciary Committee.  It was to prevent "Intentional discrimination by employee of the Internal Revenue Service."

It is hard to imagine anyone interested in good government being against such an amendment, because it is clearly designed to help prevent those in the IRS from abusing their power -- which many have done. Yet 10 senators, all Democrats, voted against it. They were:

THE SUSPENSION OF DISBELIEF

Adding straws of scandal — Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the Associated Press monitoring, the IRS fiasco, and the NSA spying — on any presidential back except Barack Obama’s would have broken it long before his serial lying on Obamacare.

Further, well apart from scandal, the perception of presidential lying usually ends presidential agendas. Richard Nixon resigned after never telling the truth about the Watergate cover-up. “Read my lips: no new taxes” cost George H.W. Bush his reelection. Yet Obama has lied repeatedly throughout his presidency, not just about Obamacare.

In addition to his multiple scandals and serial lying, the public is also indifferent to his incompetence. We have a president more dishonest than Richard Nixon, more corrupt than Bill Clinton, and more incompetent than Jimmy Carter, yet he continues to be worshipped like JFK. Why?

HOW TO END POSTERIOR OSCULATION OF ISLAMISM

It is too much to expect that a man with three Moslem names wouldn't oppose Islamism.  But that doesn't mean that Western Civilization can't.  Nonetheless, our civilization - which used to be called Christendom - cannot summon the will to do so.

Lately, we have been subjected to such a plethora of posterior osculation by libtard politicians and pundits of Moslem crazies that this is utterly undeniable.  And it shows no sign of stopping unless we stop putting up with it.

There is a way to stop it, but first, let's do a review of recent events that exemplify what has to be stopped.  It will be a little rough at first, but this is going to end up being fun.  Here we go.

WHY LIBERALS CAN’T CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING

The reason is history.  Not the childish make-believe of your kid's grammar school play of how the noble Squanto taught the helpless Mayflower Pilgrims how to feed themselves.  No, the real thing.  Here it is.

The real history of the Mayflower Pilgrims was recounted by their leader, William Bradford (1590-1657) in his book Of Plymouth Plantation, completed in 1647.  It is from Bradford that we learn of Squanto, who did indeed show the Pilgrims how to "set" or plant corn (a new unfamiliar crop for them).  Then we learn that the Pilgrims taught the Indians how to grow more corn than they ever had before:

"The Indeans used to have nothing so much corne as they have since the English have stored them with their hoes, and seene their industrie in breaking up new grounds therwith."

Reading the real history of the Pilgrims is so revelatory that I want you to see it at length.  The Pilgrims landed in December 1620, suffered a horrible winter, figured out how to fish and hunt that spring and summer so that there may have been some sort of feast with friendly Indians in the fall of 1621 - although Bradford doesn't recount the incident.

But by 1622 they were starving.  There was no "Thanksgiving" that year.  There was the next - for 1623 saw the Pilgrims in well-fed abundance, and thus was the year of the real First Thanksgiving.  What made the difference?  Here are Bradford's own words describing Anno Dom.1623:

THE NEXT GREAT ADVENTURE

"Hey, Jack, when's your next expedition and where to?"  That's the question, or variants of it, I'm asked most.  For a while now, I've been frustrating a lot of folks who've been bugging me for an answer because I've been unable to give it.

Now I can.  I've been leading expeditions to remote places in the world for over a third of a century, and during all that time I had a dream of an ultimate way to experience the world, an ultimate set of adventures and expeditions.  Now that dream is coming true.

Suppose you wanted to traverse the entire length of the Nile River, all 4,000 miles from  source (Jinja, Uganda where it exits Lake Victoria) to mouth (Alexandria, Egypt, where it enters the Mediterranean).  Or visit the most exotic, the most untouched islands in the South Pacific or the Indian Ocean.  How would you do it?

You'd have to charter a boat, for a lot of money, and take a lot of time - week upon week, even a month or two.  What if there were a way to do it in days?  Quickly, comfortably, at substantially less cost than a boat charter yet seeing and experiencing more than from the surface of the water?

The world would open up to you in a way impossible before.  That's the dream.  But how?  The answer is...

PHILISTINES AND PALESTINIANS

Responding to Moses in Mecca, TTP member "Marco" has asked about the historical lineage of the ancient Philistines and their connection to modern-day Palestinians after whom they are named.  OK, Marco, here goes.

The origins of the Philistines are unclear.  Genesis 10:14 lists the Pelishtim as among the sons of Ham, shorthand for the Hebrews' traditional enemies which also included Egyptians and Canaanites, while Amos 9:7 claims they come from "Caphtor."

At least two things about them are clear.  They are not aboriginal to the Levant (east coast of the Mediterranean) and they are not Semitic.

THE REAL CIA

[First a note on OBL, as so many of you have asked:  how can the Bin Laden audio tape be real when I said he died last December?  Two comments.  Why do we never get to see this guy?  Why is there never a video like with Zawahiri or Zarqawi?  It's much easier to fake audio than video.  Yet the bottom line now is I don't know.  My sources in Iran are very - very - well placed.  They all swear OBL died early December 2005, and tell me they have been to his grave site.  They are mystified by this tape and doubt it's for real.  But they are checking, and I'll let you know what they know. ---ML]

You just don't get it, but it's all so obvious. I mean, we had to do something, so I set it up."

I had finally gotten through via my broken-down ouija board to my old friend, the late James Jesus Angleton, for many years the head of CIA's counterintelligence operations, and I had asked him about the Mary McCarthy story. I had expected him to be furious at the discovery that a CIA officer was meeting with Washington journalists, contrary to agency policy.

ML: Huh? What's that supposed to mean? You telling me you're responsible for setting up McCarthy's conversations with Dana Priest? You've been dead for a long time, how could you manage that from, uh, where you're at?

LITTLE KNOWN WEB DELIGHTS

The Internet is like what the North Pole and the Moon used to be – a great, unexplored terrain with all sorts of life-changing phenomena, just waiting be discovered, and used for your betterment.

Of course, it depends on how you define ‘betterment.’ For many people that means having the computer spit out a can of Coke because they’re too lazy to get up and fetch one from the fridge themselves.

If you’re in the neighborhood of MIT, you can use your computer to conjure one up.

However, if you want your kids to get fresh air, you might consider the Internet to be the second most useless invention in human history, a close runner up to the TV.

But forget TV: the miracle of the Web is that there are sites that are not only fun, but amazingly useful, too.
