FLASHBACK FRIDAY: YESTERDAY AND RIGHT NOW
I took my son Brandon on our Indian Tibet expedition when he was 10 years old in 1993. Here we are about to whitewater run the Zanskar River right through the Himalayas. Look at that smile – now there’s an ecstatically happy boy. Wouldn’t you like to see a smile like that on your child or grandchild?
It doesn’t have to be in the Himalayas, and it doesn’t have to be an extreme sport. It can be in the next county or state, in a state park or in the wild. The world is full of glorious beauty and adventure. To a young ‘un, any exploration is an adventure. Get them in the habit of looking for wonder – and perhaps reignite your own! These adventures will be memories that both of you will always treasure. (Glimpses of Our Breathtaking World #205 photo ©Jack Wheeler)

Some of his advisors, I later learned, read TTP. I’ve often wondered since if this essay helped make his decision. Regardless, there’s a message here to all of us as the midterms loom.]
Western civilization is often defined by its accomplishments. Democracy, individual rights, religious liberty, and scientific advancement are all commonly associated with the West.
If you’re a Baby Boomer and a socially-conservative Christian, and you don’t understand young men nowadays, I’m writing for you.
Thirteen years ago, a 29-year-old government contractor named Ed Snowden gave a reporter proof that the U.S. government was secretly collecting the phone records of millions of ordinary Americans.
The world right now is in a bit of a precarious
We’ve been looking at the nutritional components humans need to survive. These are usually listed as Proteins, Fats, and Carbs, but I’ll repeat a more accurate description that I posted two weeks ago (in no order of priority – they are all essential):
