The Obama administration is arguably the most corrupt administration in U.S. history.

Corruption destroys civil society and economic growth by undermining the rule of law and protection of private property. Corruption takes many forms, from the simple payment to a government official for a favor, to the failure of government employees to do what they are paid to do, to gross abuse of power.

Eric Holder's  "Justice" Department is involved in a $100 billion shakedown racket against the big banks. It has been able to greatly expand its budget outside the legislative process by obtaining financial "settlements" from the private sector, through threats, intimidation and asset forfeiture.

This is corruption on a massive scale. The real question should be: Why is Mr. Holder not in jail?

If regulatory agency officials are not doing what they are legally required to do, why are they not in jail?

Those in government who waste or misspend funds for which they have a fiduciary responsibility are stealing from their employer - the American taxpayer. Why are they not in jail?

The news story headlined Canadian Military Reinforces Arctic Claim had a dramatic lede:

"Battling high winds, 25-foot ice walls, mechanical breakdowns and whiteout conditions, a Canadian military team, including Eskimo reservists, last week completed a 17-day trek [across Ellesmere Island] designed to sustain Canada's claim to sovereignty over the high Arctic."

Of course, the reporter then had to include a ridiculous global warming spin in a story on Canadian national security:

"[Expedition leader Maj. Chris Bergeron] said old-timers among the Eskimos, who call themselves Inuit, told him they had never seen open water and bare rocks so close to the North Pole."

Being quite familiar with Ellesmere, Canada's northernmost island, I can assure you the reporter, Barry Brown has never been there and is laughingly ignorant - like most glowarmers.

Just as ignorant as the Eskimos - who live over 400 miles away from Ellesmere's northern shore on the Arctic Ocean (which is itself 550 miles "close" to the North Pole).  The only Inuit or Eskimo community on all of Ellesmere's 76,000 square miles is Grise Fiord on the far away south shore.  They have no knowledge at all of the Arctic Ocean.

Which brings me to Mars... 

Have you heard of "parallel construction"? If not, take a breath, this one is rather shocking.

Here's what parallel construction is, as Wikipedia reports it: "A process of building a parallel - or separate - evidentiary basis for...creating criminal cases against Americans that are actually based on NSA warrantless surveillance."

If this sounds like a rights violation to you, you're correct. Warrantless surveillance is a blatant violation of the fourth amendment, and illegally-obtained evidence is generally inadmissible under the "fruit of the poisonous tree" doctrine.

Nonetheless, this is exactly what's happening these days. The NSA is grabbing nearly 100% of all American Internet traffic, emails, etc., sorting it all, then handing it off to be used in criminal prosecutions.

And to prevent cases like this from getting thrown out of court, the they have developed special tricks, like parallel construction. Here's how it works, and how to protect yourself from it.

One of Hollywood's legends is that their deaths always come in threes.  This proved true when Joan Rivers' came yesterday (9/04), which followed that of Lauren Bacall (8/12), and one day earlier, Robin Williams (8/11).  They were marvelously gifted, and we should be grateful for the joy they brought to our lives.

As Howie Carr of the Boston Herald notes this morning (9/05), in Massachusetts bad news also come in threes - as it did this week.  On Wednesday (9/03), Secretary of State Lurch hinted he might run in 2016, as did Governor Incompetence and Senator Talking Bull.

...You can't blame Mitt Romney for capitalizing on his clairvoyance.  The entire Zero-worshipping Enemedia made fun of his "gaffe" when, during the 2012 campaign, he told Wolf Blitzer that Russia was "without question, our number one geopolitical foe.  They fight every cause for the world's worst actors."

Since it's now blindingly obvious he was right, you can't fault his timing by penning a piece in the WaPo yesterday (9/04):  The Need for a Mighty US Military.
