President Trump’s selection of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court last night (7/09) culminates a three-decade project unparalleled in American history to install a reliable conservative majority on the nation’s highest tribunal, one that could shape the direction of the law for years to come.

All of the years of vetting and grooming and lobbying and list-making by conservative legal figures frustrated by Republican appointees who drifted to the left arguably has come down to this moment, when they stand on the precipice of appointing a fifth justice who, they hope, will at last establish a bench firmly committed to their principles.

“They’ve been pushing back for 30 years, and, obviously, the announcement tonight is a big step in the right direction,” said Curt Levey, the president of the Committee for Justice, a conservative activist group, who has been working toward this goal full time since 2005. “It’ll be the first time we can really say we have a conservative court, really the first time since the 1930s.”

A LIBERAL LAW PROFESSOR’S CASE FOR BRETT KAVANAUGH

The nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be the next Supreme Court justice is President Trump’s finest hour, his classiest move.

Last week the President promised to select “someone with impeccable credentials, great intellect, unbiased judgment, and deep reverence for the laws and Constitution of the United States.” In picking Judge Kavanaugh, he has done just that.

In 2016, I strongly supported Hillary Clinton for president as well as President Barack Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Judge Merrick Garland. But today, with the exception of the current justices and Judge Garland, it is hard to name anyone with judicial credentials as strong as those of Judge Kavanaugh.

He sits on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (the most influential circuit court) and commands wide and deep respect among scholars, lawyers and jurists.

Judge Kavanaugh, who is 53, has already helped decide hundreds of cases concerning a broad range of difficult issues. Good appellate judges faithfully follow the Supreme Court; great ones influence and help steer it.

GROWING RESISTANCE TO CHINA’S PERFIDY

The hard edges of China’s global soft power projection have been put under the microscope in a June 19 White House document entitled How China’s Economic Aggression Threatens the Technologies and Intellectual Property of the United States and the World.

The 35-page statement, attributed to White House economic adviser Peter Navarro, accuses the Chinese party-and-state apparatus of using spies, hackers, state-owned enterprises, front companies, as well as ethnic Chinese scholars and students resident in the US to “threaten the technologies and intellectual property of the United States and the world.”

Along with numerous reports in the Western media about PRC efforts to buy cultural and political influence in the US, the EU, and Australia, the White House document speaks to increasing awareness of the hard edges of Chinese soft power projection: namely, gathering intelligence and pilfering IPR (intellectual property rights) so as to speed up China’s transition to a full-fledged superpower.

Espionage, illegal IPR acquisition, and influence peddling have become part and parcel of China’s soft power push. The result has been an unprecedented pushback from Western nations.

Associate Deputy Attorney General Scott Schools, “the most important unknown person in D.C.,” will leave the Justice Department Monday. It isn’t clear whether he jumped, or was pushed.

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt resigned yesterday (7/5). leftists will hang his scalp on their lodgepole, go after other administration officials with renewed vigor.

Reading between the lines of Trump’s tweets, I get the impression there is some substance to leftist charges of ethics abuses. “Within the agency, Scott has done an outstanding job.”

In terms of policy, Acting Director Andrew Wheeler is Pruitt on steroids. So leftist joy may be short lived.

Santiago de Matamoros – Patron Saint of Spain

In 711 AD, a Moslem army crossed the Straits of Gibraltar to conquer all of Christian Spain. It took 750 years to kick them out.

The story is told of the Christian Reconquest of Spain – and of Spain’s patron saint Santiago Matamoros, meaning Saint James the Moslem-Killer (those are Moslem soldiers under his horse’s feet above) – in Reconquista (TTP, August 2009).[i]

Now, in a correlation of historical ironies, we are about to embark on an American Reconquista of our own. Actually, three of them simultaneously, all deeply interrelated.

History, however, moves far faster today than in the Middle Ages. Our Reconquista will not take centuries. Indeed, victory over all three could well be before the end of the Trump Presidency in 2024.

Let’s start with the most immediate. Two days ago on July 1^st, Mexico declared war upon the United States.

July 4th is Freedom’s Birthday. My suggestion is, amidst the fireworks and barbeques and flag-waving fun – all of which are great – that you take the time to feel good about America.

Take the time to read the Declaration of Independence aloud with your family.

One reason is that, for all your worries about America’s culture and morality, you and all your fellow conservatives can feel good about your country. Liberals can’t. One of the defining characteristics of leftie-liberals is an inability to feel truly proud of their country – proud to the bone.

You cannot be a liberal without feeling apologetic and embarrassed over being an American. You cannot be a conservative without lacking any such embarrassment or compulsion to apologize at all.

That is why the Left is filled with so much hate and rage towards President Trump – and why we feel so much affection. The Left doesn’t want to Make America Great Again – and we do.

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY HAS A DEATH WISH

The polls show the vast majority of Americans think they're cracked and want, as do citizens of almost all countries, secure borders and legal immigration.

So why are they doing this? Do they secretly want open borders? Are they actually wannabe socialist revolutionaries out to change American society at its core? Or is it……

SEX, LIES, AND THE DEEP STATE

At the heart of the effort to bring down President Trump were two affairs.

Unlike the bizarre lies about Moscow hotel rooms and prostitutes in the Steele dossier that was used by the Clinton campaign and its allies to smear President Trump and generate an investigation against him, these affairs truly took place.

And they didn’t just expose the malfeasance of four people, but of a corrupt political culture.

The affairs between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page in the FBI, and between Senate Intelligence Committee security director James Wolfe and New York Times reporter Ali Watkins, did more than betray the spouses of Strzok, Page and Wolfe.

For the Deep State, running a coup piggybacked on an affair and prostituting a reporter are virtues not sins.

The legitimate body of government tests for ethics. The parallel Deep State tests for corruption. The men and women who went after President Trump didn’t just cheat on each other, they cheated on America.

TRUMP’S PATIENCE AND OURS

What impresses me most about the very stable genius in the White House isn’t the brilliance and thoroughness of his strategic planning, his boldness in going where no political leader has gone before, or his determination to drain the swamp.

It’s Trump’s patience. He’s holding fire until as many Swamp Things as possible are in the kill zone, the cases against them are airtight, and their exposure will have the most effect on the midterm elections.

Many conservatives think we know more about what’s going on in FBI/DOJ than in fact we do. Some think they know more about that than President Trump does.

We don’t know what’s happening behind closed doors. All warfare is deception. The president can’t fool our enemies without also misleading us.

SUDDENLY, TRUMP SNOOKERS PUTIN IN SYRIA

When Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the green light to Russian aerial bombing of rebel-held positions in southwestern Syria two weeks ago, he knew he was asking for trouble.

And he appears to be getting plenty of it.

Since the Russia-led operation against Deraa began, Israeli commentators have assessed that Putin wished to wrap up the offensive ahead of his July 16 summit with President Donald Trump in Helsinki so that he could present Trump with a fait accompli.

A Russian triumph would convince Trump that U.S. operations in Syria are futile, and he would have accept Russia’s predominance, with Iran in the war-torn country.

Yet, just within the past few days Trump has turned the tables on Putin. Here’s what’s happening.

THE CLUELESS RETARD

Last night (Thursday July 6), President Trump at a rally in Great Falls, Montana, described Maxine Waters as a “low-IQ individual… somewhere in the mid-60s.”

We call liberals “Libtards” because no matter how smart they are, they have allowed their emotions to turn their brains into mush. Maxine, however, is an actual retard. The President has described her accurately.

“Intelligence quotient (I.Q.) tests are designed to measure intellectual functioning. An I.Q. score provides a rough numerical assessment of an individual's present level of mental functioning in comparison with that of others. The vast majority of people in the United States have I.Q.s between 80 and 120, with an I.Q. of 100 considered average.

To be diagnosed as having mental retardation, a person must have an I.Q. below 70-75, i.e. significantly below average. If a person scores below 70 on a properly administered and scored I.Q. test, he or she is in the bottom 2 percent of the American population¹⁰ and meets the first condition necessary to be defined as having mental retardation.

Although all persons with mental retardation have significantly impaired mental development, their intellectual level can vary considerably. An estimated 89 percent of all people with retardation have I.Q.s in the 51-70 range. An I.Q. in the 60 to 70 range is approximately the scholastic equivalent to the third grade.”

With the Fourth of July right around the corner, we have so much to celebrate this week that the question is not, Are you tired of winning yet?. The question now is, Have you run out of popcorn yet?. Better buy a lot more. This show just keep getting better and better.

This is the week, to take a prime example, that exposed The Brittleness of the Left (6/28). Tossing modesty aside, it’s the Must-Read of the Week (and it’s Free, you can send it to everyone you know) – in which we learned that it’s not just college kids, it’s that all Lefties are snowflakes.

A key character trait of all Liberal-Lefties is avoidance of personal responsibility, acceptance of which is a necessary condition for being an adult. Thus a physically grown male Lefty remains a man-child, while a female Lefty remains a woman-child – for the above meme applies to both genders.

Another necessary condition of being a real adult, man or woman, is one’s capacity for reason to override one’s emotions. Lacking this capacity is what makes children crybabies ruled by their feelings – which is exactly what Lefties are.

Leftie crybabies have been on bright klieg lights display this week like never before. Here’s a trio of examples you’ll revel in. And there’s massively more in this Fabulous Fourth of July HFR…

In 1987, I wrote an article for the Heritage Foundation entitled, "The Brittleness of the Soviet Empire."

I argued that the structure of the Soviet Empire, including the Soviet Union itself, was brittle. When a physicist describes a physical substance as brittle, he has definite characteristics in mind.

A brittle structure may be very stable. Unbending and unchanging, it may be able to withstand a great deal of pressure and remain unaltered for a considerable time. But it is inflexible; stresses cannot be redistributed except by causing the flaws to grow until a sudden, catastrophic failure occurs shattering the material and breaking it apart.

A brittle structure does not change slowly and gradually. One moment it seems sturdy and unyielding; the next moment it is in pieces.

That’s exactly what happened to the Soviet Union. That’s exactly what’s happening to the Left in America today. As in today, June 28, 2018. Mark the date. Millions of Lefty Trump-Haters feel just like this guy as you are reading this:
