PRESIDENT TRUMP’S ADDRESS TO THE UNITED NATIONS

trump-un-address[This is the full text of the President’s historic speech to the UN General Assembly yesterday 9/19.  Full video follows,  TTP considers this the single greatest speech ever given by a world leader to the General Assembly in the history of the United Nations, and the single greatest speech delivered by an American President in the last 30 years.]

Mr. Secretary General, Mr. President, world leaders, and distinguished delegates:  Welcome to New York.  It is a profound honor to stand here in my home city, as a representative of the American people, to address the people of the world.

For more than 70 years, in times of war and peace, the leaders of nations, movements, and religions have stood before this assembly.  Like them, I intend to address some of the very serious threats before us today but also the enormous potential waiting to be unleashed.

We live in a time of extraordinary opportunity.  Breakthroughs in science, technology, and medicine are curing illnesses and solving problems that prior generations thought impossible to solve.

But each day also brings news of growing dangers that threaten everything we cherish and value.  Terrorists and extremists have gathered strength and spread to every region of the planet.  Rogue regimes represented in this body not only support terrorists but threaten other nations and their own people with the most destructive weapons known to humanity.

To put it simply, we meet at a time of both of immense promise and great peril.  It is entirely up to us whether we lift the world to new heights, or let it fall into a valley of disrepair.

VOTER FRAUD – MEDIA FRAUD

dems-voter-fraudIf you have no idea what happened at the second meeting of President Donald Trump’s Advisory Commission on Election Integrity in New Hampshire on Sept. 12, I’m not surprised.

Though a horde of reporters attended the meeting, almost all of the media stories that emerged from it simply repeated the progressive left’s mantra that the commission is a “sham.”

Almost no one covered the substantive and very concerning testimony of 10 expert witnesses on the problems that exist in our voter registration and election system.

The witnesses included academics, election lawyers, state election officials, data analysts, software experts, and computer scientists.

Americans need an alternative to the mainstream media. But this can't be done alone.

The existing and potential problems they exposed would give any American with any common sense and any concern for our democratic process cause for alarm.

PRUDENCE AND HURRICANES

chart-of-death-from-major-hurricanesHurricanes Harvey and Irma were as powerful as the big South Florida hurricanes of 1926, 1928, and 1935, but the death toll was very small compared to the earlier hurricanes in the area, even though the population is now more than 10 times the size.

The Great Galveston hurricane of 1900 is estimated to have cost 6,000 to 12,000 lives. The hurricanes that have hit the U.S. in the last 50 years have resulted in relatively few lives lost, with the exception of Hurricane Katrina where an estimated 1,833 died.

The reason so few people die now is the better forecasting, the development of weather satellites, and much better infrastructure. The Katrina disaster was not the fault of the weather forecasters but the fault of state and local government leaders.

Since the end of the last ice age about 8,000 years ago, sea levels have been slowly rising at about 1/8 of an inch or 0.3 centimeters per year (i.e., a foot every 120 years). The rise in sea levels has been slow enough that it has been easy for mankind to adapt. Most buildings and infrastructure are rebuilt every 30 to 70 years, so building the new structures higher is done as a matter of course.

Despite the alarmism coming from some, there is no evidence that sea levels are rising faster than the historic rate – nor has the Arctic ice cap melted, nor has the Earth’s temperature risen at the rate forecasted by virtually all of the major climate models.

TOPLESS CAR WASHES TO SUPPORT THE POLICE IS WHAT AMERICA IS ALL ABOUT

topless-carwashStrippers and police joined forces last Saturday (9/16) in California to raise money for two wounded police officers.

Two police officers were wounded in a gun battle at a marijuana farm northeast of Sacramento, and City Limits Showgirls decided the best response was to get naked and wash cars for donations, according to The Los Angeles Times. The LA Times reported”

“The shirtless carwash at City Limits Showgirls in Marysville on Saturday raised $2,560, the strip club wrote on Facebook. A long line of cars snaked outside the fundraiser, which was held in a tented parking lot.

The charity event was held for Yuba County sheriff’s Deputies Phillip Bronson and Andrew Everhart, who were shot multiple times on Aug. 1 at a Rastafarian church’s marijuana farm in Oregon House, a small community northeast of Sacramento.”

The strip club’s Facebook page is filled with thankful comments.
“Thank you for your Community spirit,” one woman posted. “Great job Ladies.”

“I’m a retired cop,” a man wrote. “I thank you for putting [forth] the effort to help. Your hearts are golden.”

Ladies and gentlemen, this is what America is all about. Two police officers are wounded in the line of duty and strippers rush to the rescue.

I want to live in a nation where everybody is able to come together during tough times and lend a helping hand – strippers included.

That’s the spirit of unity that beat the Nazis and the Japanese. Topless car wash fundraisers is what separates us from the savages in ISIS. We have the freedom to support the police however we choose, even if it means that topless women are washing cars.

It’s also a genius way for men, who might not otherwise, donate some money to a great cause. A man’s wife might be anti-strip club, but is she really going to be against raising money for wounded police officers?

Props to these great women who joined forces to aid these police officers. God bless this country.

HALF-FULL REPORT 09/15/17

Candidate Trump’s “No Amnesty” pledge August 31, 2016

It’s 6am and I’m back in the HFR saddle.  I’m very grateful for Rod Martin and Jack Kelly so ably standing in while I was gone – thanks, guys!

I always look forward to early Friday mornings, ready to roll with the HFR.  Yet it’s called the Half-Full Report to avoid being Pollyannic – and let’s face it, Pollyanna is in the Intensive Care ward this week hoping she won’t be on life support soon.

This has been building for some time – a series of unforced errors accumulating towards disaster.  And now it has come to this: #AmnestyDon is the new hot Twitter hashtag; Leftists, Never-Trumpers Gloat over MAGA Voters’ DACA Dismay is the headline this morning, and people are burning their MAGA hats.

This is true tragedy, a self-inflicted one of Greek Mythology proportions.  President Trump has dug himself into a deep hole, and it’s not just his DACA dance with Chuck and Nancy.

Yes, that’s pretty glass-emptying.  Yet, actually, lots of cool stuff happened this week.  So let’s get to it.

9/11 AND THE RELIGION OF SLAVERY

Stefan The Great defeating the Ottoman Moslems January 10, 1475
Stefan The Great defeating the Ottoman Moslems January 10, 1475

Zagreb, Croatia.  I have just completed my expedition through Hidden Eastern Europe, primarily through much of the Balkans.  It has been a historical lesson of sobering immensity.

Today is the 16th anniversary of the most evil attack on America in our history.  More morally evil than Pearl Harbor, which was an act of war targeting US military personnel (of the 2403 deaths, 68 were civilians). 9/11, by contrast specifically targeted civilians on purpose.  2,977 innocent human beings were slaughtered by Moslem terrorists, of whom 2,508 were civilians.

The Wikipedia entry on 9/11 casualties states:  “The attacks of September 11, 2001, were the deadliest terrorist act in world history.”

If you click on that latter link, up will come a list of 173 of the worst terrorist attacks, starting with 9/11.  Scroll down the list and you’ll be overwhelmed at how many are attributed to “Islamic extremism” – 120 out of 173.

The Moslem Atrocity of 9/11 is a trauma America will never forget and never forgive its perpetrators.  What Americans should also never forget is its context.  Here in the Balkans is where you learn that context in spades.

We suffered one horrific attack of Islamic barbarism.  What would it be like to suffer an unending series of slaughters and enslavements for century after century, for four or five hundred years?

HOW 9/11 MADE ME WHAT I AM

twin-towers-attackedEach generation is born into history out of a moment of crisis. We are defined by our struggles. By the wars we fight and do not fight. On a Tuesday morning in September 16 years ago, my generation was born into history.

Some of us were born into it better than others.  On September 11, some of us opened our eyes. Others closed them as hard as they could.

That Tuesday irrevocably divided my generation. Some joined the military, the police or became analysts. Others turned left-wing activists, volunteered as lawyers for terrorists or converted to Islam.

Everything I needed to know about Islam, I learned on September 11. The details of the theology came later. I couldn’t quote the Koran while the sirens were wailing. But I learned the essential truth. And so did you.

GARY COHN, SWAMP MONSTER

gary-cohn-in-disguiseAccording to the New York Times (9/12), Gary Cohn, chief economic advisor to President Trump, is to host a meeting in New York with the world’s leading climate and energy ministers next Monday (9/18).

This meeting he has planned with the world’s climate and energy alarmists will no doubt be sold as just another case of oiling the wheels of diplomacy.

It’s not. It’s a deliberate provocation; an act of war; a statement of intent by one of the most vicious alligators in the swamp that no way is that stagnant, slimy, watery domain going to be drained because the living there is so easy that it must never be allowed to end.

That’s because the climate change industry is a $1.5 trillion a year boondoggle arranged for the benefit of dodgy second-rate scientists, rent-seeking corporations, power-crazed technocrats, publicity-hungry anti-capitalist NGOs, and financiers like Gary Cohn.

GERMANY’S HERO IS STILL CHAMBERLAIN

Merkel with her heartthrob
Merkel with her heartthrob

The election of Donald Trump as the 45th American president in November 2016 resulted in a predictable wave of barely concealed anti-American sentiment in the European media and officialdom alike. The reasons are not difficult to understand.

The European Union as the major European political institution is generally left-of-center and much closer ideologically to the Democrat Party elites in the United States than to the Republicans. Further, the European media are closely attuned to the mainstream media in the U.S. and look at the country through pretty much their prism.

What has followed since is more disturbing still because it points to new fault lines that augur ill for the West and Europe in particular. The German Left as represented by foreign minister Sigmar Gabriel has gone as far as demanding the withdrawal of American nuclear weapons from Germany, which in practice means the end of NATO.

Even more serious is Angela Merkel rapidly becoming Putin’s Chamberlain. For the picture of Merkel fawning over Putin above certainly brings to mind the infamous British Prime Minister doing the same with Hitler in 1938:

THE PROBLEM OF PAUL RYAN

paul-ryanHave you ever known someone who was exceptionally smart, very personable and highly accomplished, but was not particularly good at managing a large number of independently minded people? I have. His name is Paul Ryan.

President Trump, who is not as nice as Mr. Ryan but a get-it-done fellow, made a deal with the Democrats, which would have never been necessary if Mr. Ryan and Mr. McConnell had done their jobs.

Students, members of the military, and workers in the private sector are usually penalized, or worse, for not meeting critical deadlines. Why should members of Congress and their leaders get a free pass?

Both Mr. Ryan and Mr. McConnell are too beholden to the traditional way of doing things, unlike their opponents.

THE VIRTUE OF HAPPINESS

virtue-of-happinessLife itself is a defiance of the principle of entropy – the tendency for matter to devolve into chaos and disorder.

Life takes nutrients and the energy of inspiration and creates its own order, its own structure, and its own direction. As human beings, our consciousness allows us to take this process a step further, expanding it into a different dimension: To decide consciously to move in a particular direction; to create, to engage, to love.

So a human life that is happy is not a trivial matter of being lucky, of getting what we want; of pleasant pastimes or the absence of responsibilities or pain.

A human life that is happy is an accomplishment; a triumphant, sometimes even a heroic creation.

To create a life that is truly happy over time takes discipline, passion, and courage. A happy moment can be a matter of luck; a happy life requires virtue.

THIS LAND IS OUR LAND

usa-map[As a political satire of Woody Guthrie’s lyrics, is there a patriot folk singer who can put this to music for YouTube?]

This land is our land

This land’s not your land

So get out of our land and go back to your land

This land was made for those here legally.

From California to the New York island; From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters This land was made for those here legally.

As I was walking that ribbon of highway, I saw above me that endless skyway: I saw below me that golden valley: This land was made for those here legally.

I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts; And all around me a voice was sounding: This land was made for those here legally.

When the sun came shining, and I was strolling, And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling, As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting: This land was made for those here legally.

As I went walking I saw a sign there And on the sign it said "No Trespassing." But on the other side it didn't say nothing, That side was made for those here legally.

In the shadow of the steeple I saw these people, By the relief office I seen these people; As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking Is this land made for those here illegally?

Nobody living can ever stop me, As I go walking that freedom highway; Nobody living can ever make me turn back This land was made for those here legally.

This land is our land

This land’s not your land

So get out of our land and go back to your land

From California to the New York island; From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters This land was made for those here legally.

HALF-FULL REPORT 09/08/17

Jack is still in Eastern Europe, so you’re stuck with me again. He’ll be returning next week.

Coming off Hurricane Harvey, we are now staring down Hurricane Irma (especially those of us here in Florida). It genuinely appears to be a monster storm, so please pray for all those in its path. It has already done a great deal of harm in the Caribbean and the worst is likely yet to come.

*******

Largely overshadowed in a week dominated by DACA, North Korea and the debt ceiling deal was the President’s speech in North Dakota. But you need to take note. When even the Trump-skeptic Wall Street Journal says “Maybe The Obama Era Really Is Ending”, you know the winds really are changing.

*******

The left’s response? Just as last week when all of the criticism of Trump’s disaster relief effort focused on the First Lady’s footware, this week, they expressed horror and disgust that the President’s daughter calls him “daddy”.

*******

Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals executive order is a variation on the Rahm “never let a crisis go to waste” Emanuel’s theme: never miss a chance to exploit a tragedy. And from Katrina (“Bush is a racist who deliberately undermined the dikes to commit genocide against black people”) to Charleston (“All law-abiding citizens must be disarmed because Dylan Roof murdered people needlessly disarmed in a gun-free zone”), Democrats shamelessly exploit tragedy like cows eat grass.

That’s DACA in a nutshell.

*******

Oh, and by the way: post-DACA announcement, Trump’s approval rating ticked up to 46% for the first time in two months. Take that RINOs.

*******

And if that’s not enough, then the President pulled the rug out from under RINOs by cutting a debt ceiling deal with the Democrats. And Paul Ryan was just gobsmacked.

*******

Last week I told you that the left sees Hurricanes Harvey and Irma as punishment for America’s sins against progressivism. This week Jennifer Lawrence doubled down on that, saying the hurricanes are nature’s wrath for electing Donald Trump.

*******

Sheriff David Clarke got a new job this week, at a pro-Trump Super PAC. Ten Commandments Judge Roy Moore is beating Luther Strange by double digits – 52-36 – for the U.S. Senate seat in Alabama: that will make lots of Dem and RINO heads pop.

Here we go with this week's Late Night HFR.. it's worth the wait! 🙂

A GREAT PEOPLE

Cajun Navy in action
Cajun Navy in action

We are still a great people. The Cajun Navy and other rescuers during Harvey remind us of that.

But we lack the culture or the politics to reflect that greatness. The noble impulses that lead men to risk their lives in flooding are there. But our society no longer has the vessels to hold and sustain those impulses.

The media doesn't quite know what to make of the rescuers. You can see the itching to return to the stories that it knows and likes. Russia. Trump hit pieces. People punching each other in the street over politics. It swerves at the first sight of a Confederate flag on a rescue boat or Ted Cruz's Sandy vote. It doesn't want to dwell on the best of us. Behavior like that doesn't make sense anymore.

Generations have grown up with leftist protesters as their definition of heroes. Look in a history book and the last 70 years consisted of "heroes" who marched around waving signs until they got everything they wanted. And every day in the news there are more "heroes" marching for illegal aliens, transgender bathrooms, the supremacy of black lives and any other identity politics cause.

But waving a placard to the adulation of the media isn't heroism. Saving lives is.
