ARE JOURNALISTS FASCISTS?

As acolytes of Saul Alinsky who preached the politics of personal destruction, liberals consistently demonize their opponents as either stupid or evil.  Since nobody can honestly oppose their worldview, those are the only two alternatives.  It's one or the other, sometimes both, but never neither.

The libs couldn't claim Nixon was stupid, so he had to be evil.  They couldn't make the sale that Reagan was evil, so he had to be stupid.  Infected with BDS, they raged at Bush 42 for being both.

Last week (8/29), we saw the con applied to Rick Perry.  Some hack named Jonathan Martin wrote a piece in the widely-read Politico site entitled, Is Rick Perry Dumb?  The Perry-is-stupid meme instantly flooded the liberal blogosphere.  Google "Perry" + "dumb" and you'll get 22 million hits.

All conservatives are driven crazy by the gargantuan bias and hypocrisy of the liberal media.  It's been that way all our lives.  It's time to put an end to it.  Let's talk about how.

BAILOUTS AND PUBLIC PENSIONS

Do insolvent states actually believe other states should bail them out?   I predicted they would back in June 2009.  Sure enough, folks in Washington and in over-spending state capitols are now whispering the dreaded "b-word":  bailouts - for individual states!

American taxpayers should not be expected to bail out wasteful state governments. Fiscally liberal states spent years running away from the hard decisions that could have put their finances on a more solid footing. Now they expect taxpayers from other states to bail them out, which will allow them to postpone the tough decisions they should have made ages ago and continue spending like there's no tomorrow.

Most Americans would say these states have made their bed and now they've got to lie in it. They accepted federal dollars and did not voice opposition to the unfunded federal mandates, and they even re-elected politicians who foisted debt-ridden programs on them that could never be sustained.

Instead of coming to D.C. cap in hand asking for more "free" money, they should follow the example of their more prudent sister states and take the necessary steps to sort out their own finances. They must start by reforming their insolvent pension systems.

FORGET THE TRIAL

The most disastrous news to come out of Iraq this week was the demand by the new Iraqi Interim Government for custody of Saddam Hussein. We are reaping the moldy harvest of the American liberal obsession for legalism. All one had to do is see the farce of Slobodan Milosevic’s trial to know what judicial lunacy awaits a similar tribunal travesty for Saddam.

Yet this is suddenly the least of our worries. Turning Saddam over to the Iraqis means he will escape from custody. Through bribery or blackmail or force, the Iraqis will either let him escape or be unable to prevent it - which means all the treasure and blood America has spilled to liberate Iraq will have been in vain.

THE THREAT OF RUSSIA

The strategic challenge that Russia poses to the United States today is quite serious. Russia is increasingly anti-democratic and hostile to the United States.  Xenophobia is widespread in Russia.  The Kremlin is currently encouraging nationalism and militarizing the country.  It constantly attacks the West.  And a sizable number of the Russian population sees neighboring countries as part of the Russian zone of influence.

Now this is not me speaking, this is taken from a recent statement by Alexei Kudrin, who until September of 2011 was the finance minister of Russia, and who has just been publicly offered a cabinet position by Vladimir Putin.

The most serious aspect of the Russian threat to the United States is their nuclear use doctrine.  They have the lowest nuclear use threshold in the world.  Russia reserves the right to introduce nuclear weapons into conventional warfare, and they characterize this, amazingly, as "de-escalation" of the conflict.

You won't believe the statements of Russia's nuclear commanders.  Here's one:

HALF-FULL REPORT 10/12/12

Weirdos.  That's what I kept thinking watching SloJoe being such an obnoxious jerk on purpose in front of tens of millions of voters last night.

Why do Democrats so consistently have weirdos as their leaders?  Jimmy Carter, Ted Kennedy, Algore, Harry Reid, Pelosi Galore, Zero, SloJoe, and for all his disarming charm, Bill "Better put some ice on it" Clinton - all are obnoxiously, arrogantly, pretentiously, immorally weird.  Why can't at least one of them be a normal human being?

How does a normal person, like Paul Ryan, handle someone who is trying as hard as he can to be as rude and weird as possible?  You could try this: (see video)

In fact, Biden was so weird last night that it's being seriously asked if he was on coke.  The Sodahead website says it's a valid question.  As one Tweeter commented, "Biden already got in a few good lines... in the bathroom just before the debate!"  It may be no joke.

The VP debate is, however, a Prelim.  The Main Event is next Tuesday, October 16 - which may turn out to be BOBHICA Day for Zero - Bend Over Barack, Here It Comes Again - with the 2nd Romney-Zero debate.

THE LARGER THE GOVERNMENT, THE FEWER THE JOBS

Many in the political class, including President Obama and many members of Congress, have an interest in confusing, rather than enlightening, the public. The effort to misinform about the growth in spending and the impact of government spending on job creation reached a new level last week when the president claimed he was the most restrained spender since President Eisenhower and that spending was up only a little more than 1 percent (over what?).

A quick review of economic policy for the past 30 years, as can be seen in a glance at the table below, provides evidence that big increases in government spending do not create jobs but, in fact, do the opposite. The correct way to measure the impact of government spending is not to look at the nominal numbers, which include population and economic growth and inflation, but rather as a percentage of GDP (national output).

THE MOST IMPORTANT WORD IN THE CONSTITUTION

One word is the single most important word in our government's founding document to understand - for the entire edifice of the modern liberal administrative state is built on the willfully perverse misinterpretation of it.

The meaning of this word is the hill on which to make our stand for recovering our American birthright of freedom.  The good news is that the cavalry is on its way to rescue us from the forces of fascism - and it's led not by John Wayne but by a 63 year-old black man.

Don't you love Providence's sense of humor?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL 57 STATES

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate - from the FBI's 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel's.

And let's face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don't know what the term is in Austrian for that...

KERRY HONORED BY VIETNAM COMMUNISTS

There is a photograph prominently displayed in the Vietnamese Communist War Remnants Museum (formerly known as the "War Crimes Museum") in Saigon (called Ho Chi Minh City by the Communists). The photograph, in a room dedicated to foreign activists who contributed to the Communist victory over America in the Vietnam War, shows Senator John Kerry being greeted by Comrade Do Muoi, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

HOW LOW WILL GOLD GO?

The curse of hedging that blighted gold in the 1990s is making a comeback, and threatens to loom over the market like Banquo's ghost.

London-listed gold producer Petropavlovsk has said it will pre-sell 55pc of its future output planned for the second quarter of 2014, at an average price of $1,408 an ounce. This is the first time that a big producer has hedged more than half its future sales.

"We have a huge investment program and thought a little price protection in the short-term will let us sleep better at night," said chairman Peter Hambro.

Tyler Broda from Nomura said this may signal the return of "structural hedging" across the industry, with other companies scrambling to lock in forward contracts. "This could increase the pressure on the spot gold price over the coming years," he said. The risk is a vicious circle as hedging leads to lower prices, leading to more hedging.

HALF-FULL REPORT 10/05/12

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  I'm here on business, but that sure won't keep me from writing this HFR.  Holy Toledo, what a week.  First, though, I have to thank Jack Kelly for his marvelous HFRs while I've been away.

Future historians may entitle what happened in Denver on Wednesday night (10/03) The 90 Minutes That Saved America.  It took the RNC all of 12 hours to take advantage of the split-screen presentation of the debate, and flood battleground state airwaves with this devastating ad called simply "Smirk"...

Schadenfreude can be so much fun.  The entire Moonbat Media was just so totally certain that their messiah was going to obliterate Mitt.  Their rage and disappointment was beautiful to behold.

Chrissie Tingle-leg was in full meltdown on MSNBC. The Business Insider headline: Romney Absolutely Destroyed Obama.  The London Telegraph's: Romney Humiliated Obama.  Zero's media lapdogs tried to blame moderator Jim Lehrer.

Other than Zero himself, I'd blame the White House Svengali, Valerie Jarrett, who controls access to him and makes sure no one who'd criticize him gets a chance to.  So when Romney rhetorically began smacking him around, he became a resentful deer in the headlights.

It was fascinating to watch Zero seem to literally shrink in size right on the debate stage.  Zero is 6-1, while Romney is 6-2, but it was Mitt's commanding presence and energy that was so much larger.  Zero became small right before our eyes.  Look how small he is (and how bitter-angry Moochelle is) in this post-debate pic:

DEMOCRAT THUGS AND REPUBLICAN WEENIES

Many Democrats (and some Republicans) are all atwitter about Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin deciding to move to Singapore to partially escape what he believes is excessive taxation. Leaving the U.S. is a much more extreme action than moving from a high-tax state to a low-tax state, but a record number of Americans gave up their citizenship last year.

Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, and Sen. Robert P. Casey Jr., Pennsylvania Democrat - whose thought processes seem to be similar to those of King George III in 1776 - have denounced Mr. Saverin and introduced legislation to punish him and others who may wish to leave because of high taxes.

It appears to me that this is nothing more than a modern version of the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, which demanded slaves be returned to their "owners," who were in effect imposing close to a 100 percent tax upon their slaves.

Why don't more Republicans in Congress stand up to such Democrat thugishness -- most especially when it comes to the deficit spending that's bankrupting us and causing wealthy Americans to leave America?

THE ENERGY OF LIBYA

We are witnessing in Tripoli today what it takes to get rid of a brutal dictatorship determined to keep power at all costs, and how the dictator's thugs will continue to desperately fight on as they face inevitable doom.

We will witness the same struggle here in the US in 2012.

The Demagogue Party and its moocher minions will put up a ferocious struggle to maintain their power and paychecks - and they will lose as surely as has Muamar Gadaffi.  For they fight with lies, deceit, and thuggery, while we have unstoppable technology and no-longer-deniable truth.

The key to it all is energy.

THE SPEECH EVERY AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL SHOULD GIVE

To the students and faculty of our high school as we begin a new academic year this September of 2010:

I am your new principal, and honored to be so. There is no greater calling than to teach young people.

I would like to apprise you of some important changes coming to our school. I am making these changes because I am convinced that most of the ideas that have dominated public education in America have worked against you, against your teachers and against your country.

First, this school will no longer honor race or ethnicity. I could not care less if your racial makeup is black, brown, red, yellow or white. I could not care less if your origins are African, Latin American, Asian or European, or if your ancestors arrived here on the Mayflower or on slave ships.

The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is your individual identity -- your character, your scholarship, your humanity. And the only national identity this school will care about is American.

GROVER IN MANCHURIA

Wrap your brain around this:

· The Policy Director for the Intelligence Division of the Department of Homeland Security - who has access to classified information on all our ports, airports, and everything else pertaining to national security - is a Moslem with direct ties to Islamic radicals under indictment by the FBI.

· This individual, named Faisal Gill, received his security clearances despite his lying on his clearance forms about his ties to Islamist organizations. When his deception was disclosed, he was suspended last March - and then reinstated with his clearances intact.

· The reason he got the job, received his clearance, and was reinstated after being suspended, was pressure from the single most influential Republican activist and lobbyist in Washington, Grover Norquist.
