SAD: KATHY HOCHUL TRIES TO WARN PEOPLE REPUBLICANS WILL TAKE AWAY WOMEN’S RIGHTS, BUT HER MOUTH IS COVERED BY HIJAB
NEW YORK, NY — Governor Kathy Hochul desperately tried to warn New Yorkers that Republicans were taking away women's rights, but no one in the room could hear her because her mouth was covered by a hijab.
With the hijab making Hochul's voice sound like the muffled groans of the teacher from Charlie Brown cartoons, New Yorkers remained tragically ignorant of the threat that Republicans pose to women's freedom.
"Bwahh-bwahhh. Gllll. Merrrr," said Hochul, waving her arms frantically.
Attendees and members of the media were bewildered.
"Huh. Wonder what she's saying under there," said local man Hamza Malik. "Seems like she's pretty worked up about it, whatever it is. Good thing we made her wear the hijab so we don't have to listen to some high-pitched whining. Someone tell her the time for women talking is over."
Republicans gloated over the incident, cackling that Hochul was unable to warn anyone of their dastardly plans. "Ha! Now the women will never see it coming," said local Republican man Kenneth Grayson. "Lucky for us that the Democrats stuffed her into a hijab, or else our plot to take women's rights could have been foiled."
At publishing time, Hochul's security team had ushered the governor to safety and narrowly prevented her from being beaten with sticks for speaking to men in public.

[This Monday’s Archive was originally in TTP on May 15, 2015. It called for another John Wilkes, “Champion of English Freedom” as his statue on Fetter Street in London declares, to run for President as the Champion of American Freedom. One month later, on June 16, Donald Trump accompanied by Melania, rode the elevator in Trump Tower to the lobby to formally announce his presidential candidacy. Some of his advisors, I later learned, read TTP. I’ve often wondered since if this essay helped make his decision. Regardless, there’s a message here to all of us as the midterms loom.]
Western civilization is often defined by its accomplishments. Democracy, individual rights, religious liberty, and scientific advancement are all commonly associated with the West.
