HALF-FULL REPORT 12/19/14

Yesterday in the Kremlin, the Putin Huilo gave what Bloomberg described as an "Extremely Long Very Weird Press Conference."

It reminded me of the now-viral YouTube video of the Chinese two year-old missing a putt:

{youtube}5_UVgmPDMRY{/youtube}

As the London Economist describes Putin's Russia, it's The End of the Line.

What is happening to Russia - and elsewhere - affords an extremely teachable moment in what makes prosperity and indeed freedom itself possible.  Let's take that moment now....

All that aside, we nonetheless are facing Two More Years of Hell.  This week provided ample evidence of why....

And how Islam is rapidly becoming a religion of criminal insanity....

Yet there is some good news....

CONTAINING PUTIN

Russian President Vladimir Putin's clear goal is to re-establish as much of the Russian Empire (1721-1917) as he can. At its greatest extent, the Russian Empire included the territories of the old Soviet Union, most of Eastern Europe, Finland and Alaska (up to 1866).

Mr. Putin knows the next U.S. president is unlikely to be as indecisive and reluctant to act as President Obama. He also faces falling demand for Russian oil and gas and unexpected price declines, which may cause him to run through Russia's considerable financial reserves. Accordingly, the pressure is on Mr. Putin to act quickly.

The Russian economy is now little more than a petro-state, relying on oil and gas, which account for 68 percent of its total exports, and more than half of its government revenue. Much of Russia's manufacturing base evaporated after the end of the Soviet Union. The ruble has fallen more than 30 percent against the dollar since the beginning of this year. As a result, inflation is accelerating (more than 8 percent at the moment) as imports become more and more expensive.

Thus Mr. Putin is both dangerous and vulnerable.  He must be contained.  Let's see how.

THE UNFINISHED WAR

The war with Hamas is not over. What we are experiencing today is a temporary cease-fire.

The most basic reason the war is not over is because Hamas has no existence outside its war against the Jewish state. Hamas exists to obliterate Israel. The goal of each round of fighting is to soften Israel up for the next round.  Hamas will only stop fighting when it is defeated. And Israel did not defeat Hamas.

Not only did Israel not defeat Hamas, but incredibly, according to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, senior IDF commanders are now lobbying the government to in effect surrender to Hamas..

The General Staff's behavior isn't the only reason that Hamas thinks aggression is the way to go. The US and Europe have gone out of their way, both during the fighting and today, to show Hamas that they are right to attack Israel.  Mr. Obama in particular.

GOLDBRICS

brics_2014.png

Yesterday (7/23), an article in the prestigious foreign policy journal The Diplomat began:

"Although the tragic incident of MH17 now attracts global attention, the real big news last week was the establishment of the BRICS development bank at the BRICS summit in Brazil."

Although the article displays the blatant bias of its author as a professional Chicom apologist (Dingding Chen is a professor of government at China's University of Macau), there are many in the West and the US who agree - particularly among those who root for the collapse of the dollar.

Despite Mr. Chen's hyperbole, the BRICS' New Development Bank is worth paying attention to as a possible competitor to 1) the IMF & World Bank, 2) the SWIFT international banking transaction network, and 3) the US dollar as the world's reserve currency.

The key word in the sentence above is "possible" - for when you examine each of the BRICS individually (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) you begin to see what's possible here is not very probable.  Competition for the SWIFT/IMF/US$ hegemonies is to be welcomed - but it is very unlikely it will be provided by this crowd.

Far more possible is the group will become known as the GOLDBRICS, given Webster's definition of "goldbrick" as: a worthless brick that appears to be of gold; something that appears to be valuable but is actually worthless.

Let's begin with their "R" - Russia.

WILL GEORGE ZIMMERMAN SAVE AMERICA?

What is going on in Egypt is simply astounding.  The pictures -such as those of this UPI story, are jaw-dropping.  Especially when you consider what millions upon millions of Egyptians are demonstrating against:  radical Islamism and Sharia law which they equate with fascist tyranny.

Who or what is behind these gigantic protests?  An amorphous movement called Tamarod, meaning "Rebel" or "Rebellion" in Arabic.  Its goal is the resignation of President Morsi and the removal of the Moslem Brotherhood from power, followed by new elections.

Now, here's what almost no one gets so far:  The Tamarod movement is Egypt's Tea Party.  Both are anti-fascist freedom movements.  Of course, the US Tea Parties have a far deeper and more solid foundation - the US Constitution and the demand for the federal government to limit itself to the Constitution's enumerated powers.

Nonetheless, what is happening in Egypt should inspire all Tea Partyers in America.  If tens of millions of Egyptians can demand the resignation of their corrupt fascist leader, why can't tens of millions of Americans do the same?

Well, then, why aren't they?  Americans have the greatest tradition of freedom in human history.  Egyptians don't have any at all.  So why aren't vast numbers of Americans in the streets demanding their freedom from the federalie fascisti, led by an irretrievably corrupt president who hates their country?  What does it take?

Maybe it takes George Zimmerman getting acquitted.

IDEALISM IS A POOR STRATEGY FOR LIBERTY

We want to live in freedom. We want this country that was founded on individual liberty to once again become a country that champions individual liberty. America was founded on an this ideal; an ideal that holds tremendous meaning for most everybody reading this column.

But while an ideal is great for offering direction, there are dangers to holding too tightly or dwelling too deeply upon the image of what you would like to see fulfilled.

Researchers have found that when you are aiming for a personal goal, the practice of visualizing the end product can actually have a negative effect on your ability to achieve it.  This finding runs counter to decades of self-help advice.

If you are holding in your mind an image of what a totally free society would look like; if you are measuring the political system in which you live, and comparing everything about it to that ideal, you will succeed in being eternally disappointed, dissatisfied, and even bitter.

The truth is...

THERE WERE NO ELECTIONS IN IRAN

There were no elections in Iran last Friday (3/14), whatever you may have heard. The "turnout" was shockingly low, even by past standards, as is demonstrated by the obvious panic in Tehran, where the mullahs kept the polls open an extra five hours.

This was not, as they said, to make sure the patriotic citizens of the capital could drop their ballots in the box, but because they had to bus the reluctant faithful and the subservient government employees to the election offices, so as to be able to claim a large, voluntary participation.

Even so, the official figure of 60 percent has no relationship to the actual event, in which perhaps 10 or 15 percent actually "voted."

The fraud was so obvious that even the European Union denounced the "elections" as neither free nor fair, despite their wish to pass off the Islamic Republic (as former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage and current McCain-campaign advisor once famously put it) as "a democracy."

EMAIL SECURITY

Your email or "mail pop accounts" are out there in the naked with no protection. As it passes many hops and bounds on its way to its intended destination, it can be intercepted and sniffed by numerous people on its way. It's your data, you can do what you want with it, but it might be a prudent thing to think about your security.

Further, just like there are wired network tools for snooping there are also wireless sniffing devices that can rob you blind.

So, fellow TTPers, if you have a wireless network, and if you want to protect your email, please do this:

SOROS REPUBLICANS TO THE RESCUE?

I've heard it from more than one COS (Chief of Staff) of Republican Senators now, and the buzz is growing among Capitol Hill staffers in the House as well.  Word is that a number of "Soros Republicans" are about to step up to the plate.  Big time.

The term is unfortunate, attaching the name of scumbag George Soros to patriotic Americans.  What is meant by it is that just as Soros opened up his billion dollar wallet for the Dems, so billionaire Republicans are about to do the same for the GOP.

It's about time.

The Democrats' 2008 campaign is going to be the most vicious attack on America ever conducted.  The recent ad blitz for local and state elections earlier this month was a taste - one over-the-top character-rape of Republican candidates after unending other.

The RNC (Republican National Committee) estimates that the Dems will raise and spend - via the Clinton machine, Soros-type donors, the labor unions, the moonbats - two billion dollars to capture the White House and keep control of Congress.

Finally, the Pubbies are waking up to the danger.

SKYPE 2.5 (beta)

We first talked about Skype, the software program by which you can make free phone calls most anywhere in the world, last September in Talk Is Cheap.

Last week Skype marked quite a milestone: 100,000,000 registered users. That's just the number of downloads, though-there aren't necessarily that many regular users.

Still, at any moment, several million people in the world are online using Skype whether for free Skype-to-Skype voice calls, instant messaging chat, video calls, or to take advantage of the premium services that actually earn Skype its money. That's impressive by any measure.

As of May 3, 2006, there's a new and modestly improved version of Skype available for download.

Chapter Two: PRINCESS

Chapter Two: PRINCESS

Malinali giggled. It was the kind of squeal and squeak that only a little girl who is deliriously happy can have. She was hiding behind a curtain in her father’s palace.

“Ixkakuk! Ixkakuk!” her father called out, using his nickname for her, meaning Beautiful Goddess. “Where are you? I can’t find you!” He crept up to the curtain. “But when I do, I’m going to?” he grabbed the bulge in the curtain? “tickle you to death!”

The little girl’s shrieks of mirth rang through the palace. King Teteotcingo released his grip, and Malinali raced away across the throne room laughing and yelling, her father chasing after her. The uproar reached the ears of Malinali’s mother, Queen Cimatl, in an adjoining chamber attended by her courtiers. She sighed disapprovingly. “You would think the King would have more important matters of state to attend to than to play with little girls.”

BIBI PAVES THE WAY TO END OBAMA’S BOOTLICKING IRAN

South Korea lives under a US security umbrella. Both on a conventional and nuclear level, South Koreans are dependent on the US to deter North Korea from attacking them and overrunning their country.

Last Friday 3/06), US Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman scolded South Koreans for being too nationalist. In her words, "Nationalist feelings can still be exploited, and it's not hard for a political leader anywhere to earn cheap applause by vilifying a former enemy."

The South Koreans interpreted her remarks as criticism of their President Park Geun-hye for her refusal to reinstate reunification talks with North Korea due to Pyongyang's refusal to discuss the dismantlement of its nuclear program.

Sherman negotiated the US's nuclear pact with North Korea in the 1990s. The North Koreans used the deal as a smokescreen behind which they developed nuclear weapons while receiving financial assistance from the US which paid off the regime for signing the deal.

Once Pyongyang was ready to come out as a nuclear power, it threw out the nuclear inspectors, opened the sealed nuclear sites, vacated its signature on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and began testing nuclear bombs.

Sherman is now the US's chief negotiator in the P5+1 nuclear talks with Iran. She;s having hissy fits because Bibi Netanyahu has ruined her plans.

HALF-FULL REPORT 12/12/14

"Boehner Wins Funding For Obama's Amnesty."

Welcome to this morning's headline.  It's hard to imagine more nauseating news, confirming all of our suspicions about what Rino rectum sellout corrupt scumbags are John Boehner and the House GOP leadership.

It is now clear that Boehner and the GOP Establishment is in collusion with Zero to grant unconstitutional amnesty to millions - uncountable millions with subsequent chain migration - of illegal non-Americans....

It's hilarious that no member of the Enemedia has ever questioned Zero's intelligence.  For while he has the ruthless cunning of a mafia gangster or narcissistic sociopath, he shows no evidence of being either educated or very bright. A case in point is...

With the exposure of the UVA Rape Hoax, the question now is what effect will that have on the other FemiLeft Rape Cause, that of the destruction of Bill Cosby?....

Get comfortable for what's coming next, preferably with a tumbler of your favorite adult beverage within easy reach.  This is one of those gems that by itself is worth a year's subscription to TTP.....

THE LAWLESSNESS OF OUR GOVERNMENT

The basic function of government is the protection of person and property, and the United States is losing ground both in absolute terms and relative to other countries on this basic measure of liberty.

Last month, the Economic Freedom of the World annual index for 2014 was released, as was the 2014 edition of the International Property Rights Index. Despite slightly different methodologies, both indices were very close in their global rankings of property-rights protections.  In 1980, the United States ranked No. 1 in the world -- now we have sunk to below France.

DRUNK DEM THUGS AND THE PHONY INDICTMENT OF RICK PERRY

Remember Barack Obama telling his followers to always "bring a gun to a knife fight"? Like good subjects do, his supporters in Texas obeyed. Friday (8/15), Texas Gov. Rick Perry was indicted on two counts of abuse of power.

This ridiculous politically motivated "indictment" of Governor Rick Perry stems from the ugly thug tactics of the "politics of personal destruction" that the left is known for. They draw blood and leave scars on conservatives who threaten their political power, hoping the threat retreats and hoping his or her base of support remains silent in fear of becoming collateral damage.

First and foremost, today's liberals have no shame. Case in point: Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg.  Here are the drunk, ugly, and thuggish details.
