My ribs are sore. Every time I see this immortal letter and all the attendant media frenzy around it, I can’t stop belly laughing.

On Thursday January 10, the New York Times ran one of its typical smear attacks on a prominent conservative Republican. It was as fully dishonest and demagogic as usual, using the GOPer as a foil to smear the President and further the Times’ agenda of destroying our country.
This time the target was Iowa Congressman Steve King, and you can see the real target and the narrative in the headline: Before Trump, Steve King Set the Agenda for the Wall and Anti-Immigrant Politics.
It was a blatantly biased hit piece – immediately apparent in the headline, for “anti-immigrant politics” does not exist, not in Steve’s, not in President Trump’s, not in those of the GOP. Theirs are “anti-illegal-immigrant politics,” a 180-degree difference that the Slimes purposefully ignores.
Yet it had precisely the effect intended five days later. At 3:26pm Eastern Standard Time on January 15, 2019, the Republican Party died – cause of death: suicide. Here’s what happened and why.
It's hard to read the anonymous posting on the Daily Caller from a "senior Trump official" without coming to the conclusion that the current partial government shutdown should remain shut essentially forever. (It won't. I know. But hear me out.)

Even senior officials must gain approval from every rank across their department, other agencies and work units for basic administrative chores.”Well, it's not as bad as what one former Justice Department attorney told me about life inside the DOJ -- that under-utilized $200K/yr lawyers sit there all day looking at porn on their computers -- but it's bad enough.
Let’s be clear. This is a national disgrace of unprecedented historic proportions.
Citing unnamed “former law enforcement sources and others,” the New York Times reports (1/11) that “in the days after President Trump fired James B. Comey as F.B.I. director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s behavior that they began investigating whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests.”
The mainstream media has touted this story as major breaking news. But, to anyone who has been paying even a modicum of attention, it is crystal clear that Comey’s firing did not precipitate the FBI’s investigation of Trump.
To the contrary, the readily available record facts demonstrate that Comey’s FBI began investigating Trump and his campaign for possible Russian collusion shortly after he won the Republican Party’s nomination.
Even though the Times would have us believe that the FBI investigated Trump out of a legitimate concern for national security, those same facts prove that, in launching and directing the investigation, the leadership of Comey’s FBI was engaging in partisan presidential politics to further their own corrupt interests. Here’s why.
Our civilization, and especially our country, is based on “the laws of nature and nature’s God,”—standards of right and wrong independent of earthly power—preached by the Christian churches.

Today, a chapter in that temptation is playing out among us as America’s Catholic bishops consider how better to identify and punish some of their colleagues and the priests they supervise who have been sexually abusing adolescents, 80 percent of them boys and young men.
On November 11, 2018 under pressure from enraged parishioners, and internal resistance notwithstanding, the U.S. bishops were about to vote on some proposals better to identify and expel what, by definition, is homosexual predation. But homosexuality ranks high among the icons of progressives, robed and not. Pope Francis proceeded to denounce the accusers as “tools of the devil,” not the perpetrators themselves.
The Israelis captured copious secret Iranian documents that demonstrate the Islamic Republic long worked on underground nuclear facilities at Parchin. Now a detailed analysis of the Iranian scheme has come out, and it warrants close attention.
The analysis shows that the Iranians’ secret nuclear program was successfully hidden from Western intelligence services (including our own) and from the IAEA, the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency, which is supposed to monitor Iranian operations.
In other words, until Mossad agents made off with the extensive Iranian archive, the West had no serious information about the Iranian secret nuclear program. This includes Israel, presumably the best informed of them all. Are all our intel agencies that incompetent?
It’s not just RBG who the Dems are propping up, pretending she’s still alive and functioning. It’s their entire party. RBG is the perfect metaphor for Democrats today.
Her situation is dire – so much so that yesterday (1/10), Politico reported: Trump White House urging allies to prepare for possible RBG departure.

None of us is getting younger – the arrow of time only flies in one direction. Before you know it, the adage is staring you in the face: “I thought getting old would take a lot longer…” If that hasn’t happened to you yet, it soon enough will.
As the years fly by, we keep saying to ourselves, “Someday, I’m going to…” And that someday never comes. So how about your someday coming this year – making 2019 an adventurous year doing what you’ve dreamed of?

America proudly welcomes millions of lawful immigrants who enrich our society and contribute to our nation.
But all Americans are hurt by uncontrolled, illegal migration. In the last two years, ICE officers made 266,000 arrests of aliens with criminal records, including those charged or convicted of 100,000 assaults, 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 violent killings.
Over the years, thousands of Americans have been brutally killed by those who illegally entered our country, and thousands more lives will be lost if we don’t act right now.
This is a humanitarian crisis — a crisis of the heart and a crisis of the soul. This is the tragic reality of illegal immigration on our southern border. This is the cycle of human suffering that I am determined to end.
As the shutdown heads into its fourth week, the nation is getting used to the radical idea that we can actually do without the fleets of bureaucrats who, in the immortal words of the Declaration of Independence, have been "sent hither to harass our people and eat out their substance."
For decades, as the federal leviathan has grown ever larger, and poked its voracious snout into all manners of unconstitutional fodder, the people of the United States have largely sat idly by, hoping to catch some of the droppings from the creature's maw in the belief that it will not eat them too as it forages merrily along.
Still, life has gone on otherwise pretty much as before -- and the longer the shutdown continues, the more easily the way we were can be forgotten.
So the longer Donald Trump wrangles with his two superannuated cartoon antagonists, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, the stronger the president's position becomes.
America is schizophrenic about its major universities and, to a lesser extent, its undergraduate colleges.
On the one hand, higher education’s professional schools in medicine and business, as well as graduate and undergraduate programs in math, science, and engineering, are the world’s best. America dominates the lists of the top universities compiled in global surveys conducted from the United Kingdom to Japan.
On the other hand, the liberal arts and social sciences of America’s universities are expensive engines of propaganda and intolerance.
Few believe any more that current liberal-arts programs have prepared graduates to write persuasively and elegantly, to read critically and to think inductively while drawing on a wide body of literary, linguistic, historical, artistic, and philosophical knowledge.
By and large, the bachelor’s degree, even in a liberal-arts major, no longer certifies that a graduate will be able to read, reason, compute, or draw on a body of knowledge far more effectively than those without an undergraduate degree.
The decline of the university has been an ongoing tragedy since the 1960s, but the erosion has accelerated because of ideological bias and its twin, incompetence. Here are five major recent and additional catalysts.
My New Year’s wish for 2019 is for more of my fellow Americans and others to learn some basic history and try to get a grip on reality.
Such as someone who writes for The New York Times under the name of Michelle Alexander, who wrote a column published December 21, “None of Us Deserve Citizenship”
One of her choice sentences: “But for slavery, genocide, and colonization, we would not be the wealthiest, most powerful nation in the world — in fact, our nation would not even exist.” Hmm.
Both North and South America were colonized by European countries that practiced slavery, and the United States was not the last country in the Americas to abolish slavery. That would be Brazil in 1888.
Ms. Alexander fails to explain to us why the United States became the wealthiest country, when the “genocide” she blames occurred mostly before the English colonization (that is, prior to the mid-1600s) and that slavery was common all through the Americas until the mid-1800s, not long before or after the United States abolished it.
She fails because she failed to get a decent education.
Theirs is indeed, “A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
