HALF-FULL REPORT 07/07/17

The President with Jan Sobieski
The President with Jan Sobieski

Donald Trump!  Donald Trump!  Donald Trump!  Donald Trump!  Donald Trump! !

Over and over again, the Polish people chanted the name of the President of the United States as he spoke to them in Krasiński Square, the site of the Warsaw Uprising monument in Warsaw yesterday (7/06).

The President’s speech was so magnificent it’s being compared by many to Reagan’s and Churchill’s best.

Trump delivered a full-throated defense of Western Judeo-Christian Civilization without a hint of apology.  He praised the Polish people for their incredibly heroic history, especially against the twin evils of Soviets and Nazis – and made it abundantly clear he considered their current struggle against the twin evils of Russian imperialism and EU bureaucratic oppression heroic as well.

It is little wonder that at the President’s meeting in Warsaw’s Royal Castle with his counterpart Andrzej Duda, he was seated below a portrait of Poland’s national hero King Jan Sobieski (1629-1696), the Savior of Western Civilization.

Here is a sample of quotes for the history books [comments in the brackets].  You can read the entire text here, and I could not encourage you more to watch the entire video below.

This has been an extraordinary week of America’s leadership in the world and the Fake News Media being humiliated.  Here we go…

FREEDOM’S BIRTHDAY 2017

freedoms-birthday[This was originally in To The Point for July 4, 2004. This is the version for 2017.  We at To The Point wish all of you an exceedingly happy Fourth of July.]

July 4th is Freedom's Birthday. My suggestion is, amidst the fireworks and barbeques and flag-waving fun – all of which are great – that you take the time to feel good about America. Take the time to read the Declaration of Independence aloud with your family.

There is so much to love about our country, so much to feel good about. Despite all the residual indecency from the Nightmare of Obama that can drive you crazy, there is so much decency and moral goodness in America that it just takes your breath away.

America is the most moral and humanitarian nation ever to exist – because of the founding principles of our country that we celebrate today.

No other nation or society in human history was founded on the moral right to individual freedom than America – that you, me, and all of us have the moral right to our own personal life, our own personal liberty, and to pursue our own personal happiness.

And more, much more.  That the only – only – moral purpose of government is to protect and enable the exercise of these sacred rights of its citizens.  Any other rationale for government guns and power over its citizens is immoral and illegitimate.

Thus what we celebrate today is the essence of our existence as Americans.  That essence lies in our Declaration of Independence.

TRUMP’S SIMULTANEOUS ANNIHILATION OF ISIS AND CNN

On May 19, Secretary of Defense Mattis announced that President Trump’s strategy regarding the barbarian terrorists of ISIS would be radically different from that of his predecessor:

“[President Trump] directed a tactical shift from shoving ISIS out of safe locations in an attrition fight to surrounding the enemy in their strongholds so we can annihilate ISIS.”

That is exactly what has happened.  We have gone from Zero’s no victory policy of attrition and spectacular failure to Trump’s policy of victory via annihilation of the enemy – and it is proving to be a spectacular success.

On Sunday (7/02), the New York Times headline was: U.S.-Backed Forces Close to Trapping ISIS Holdouts in Raqqa.

This morning (7/06), the London Daily Mail headline is: ISIS Near Total Defeat in Mosul, Holds Just 600 Square Yards in Old City.

How did this happen in both of ISIS capitals of Mosul in Iraq and Raqqa in Syria?

It is cosmically ironic that the culmination of Trump’s annihilation strategy regarding ISIS – with the fall of their Caliphate’s twin capitals of Mosul and Raqqa – is in the very same week as the culmination of his annihilation strategy regarding CNN.

CNN’S FAKE NEWS MACHINE

On April 10, mcorrupt-news-networkedia types were crowing that CNN had brought in Eric Lichtblau who had been, in the Washington Post’s words, at “the forefront of the New York Times’s reporting on the relationship between the Trump presidential campaign and Russia.”

It was “an investment in investigative reporting and the sprawling Russia story”. It didn’t take long for the investigative investment to sprawl badly.

On June 25, Lichtblau resigned from CNN in a growing scandal over a Fake News story about a Trump associate.

"Eric will guide our coverage and thinking," Lex Haris, executive editor of CNN Investigates, had boasted. "And when he’s onto a investigation, he’ll still be reporting and writing too.”

Not for long. For Harris has joined Lichtblau on the unemployment line after the Fake News scandal.

CNN Investigates had been announced after President Trump’s inauguration. Its hit pieces had followed the same pattern as the Scaramucci attack that would be its undoing.

Go after a personality tipped for a job with the new administration. CNN Investigates had previously targeted Monica Crowley and Sheriff Dave Clarke with plagiarism accusations. But this time around, CNN’s anti-Trump unit had made a big mistake.

TRUMP’S REVENGE

trump-wrestling-cnnTrump’s self-made video parody that shows him wrestling down CNN has all the self-righteous pundits in an uproar, but it puts the heat where it belongs.

On CNN and the rest of them that round-the-clock give him no peace, no mercy, no fairness, no slack. In return, Trump goes Raw.  Like Truman once did.

Friends in Israel tell me that Trump is not alone. Benjamin Netanyahu, they say, gets the same treatment from the Hebrew press. Most times, even worse.

The same, maybe. Worse, impossible.

On top of that, the obscenities coming from our TV news and talk shows are so violent that there is no choice but to say that we are past media bias and deep into media depravity.

It’s been so non-stop nasty that many of us have stopped reading and watching the coverage. We know what’s coming. We are braced. Trump gets even.  Trump’s revenge.

ROBERT MUELLER HAD BETTER BE INVESTIGATING JOHN PODESTA

john-podesta
This morning, the President sent this tweet from Brussels:

trump-tweet-070717
As well he should.  For lawmakers failed to seize on an alarming development in the Russia collusion story last week, one that should spark serious and immediate congressional inquiry.

But it didn’t involve President Trump or his administration.

During a heated Fox Business interview with Maria Bartiromo (6/28), Hillary Clinton’s former campaign chief John Podesta made a series of misleading statements when questioned about his involvement in a company that received $35 million from the Russian government while Clinton served as secretary of state.

On Jan. 18, 2011, a small green-energy company named Joule Unlimited announced Podesta’s appointment to its board. Months later, Rusnano, a Kremlin-backed investment fund founded by Vladimir Putin, pumped $35 million into Joule.

That’s just for starters for collusion between Russia and Podesta.

THE UN MUST NOT MAKE IT NECESSARY FOR AMERICA TO USE MILITARY FORCE AGAINST NORTH KOREA

norks-military-force[This is the text of US Ambassador Nikki Haley to the UN Security Council on July 5]

To my friends on the Security Council, I must say that today is a dark day. It is a dark day because yesterday’s (7/04) actions by North Korea made the world a more dangerous place.

Their illegal missile launch was not only dangerous, but reckless and irresponsible. It showed that North Korea does not want to be part of a peaceful world. They have cast a dark shadow of conflict on all nations that strive for peace.

Make no mistake, North Korea’s launch of an ICBM is a clear and sharp military escalation. The North Korean regime openly states that its missiles are intended to deliver nuclear weapons to strike cities in the United States, South Korea, and Japan. And now it has a greater capacity to do so.

In truth, it is not only the United States and our allies that are threatened. North Korea’s destabilizing escalation is a threat to all nations in the region and beyond. Their actions are quickly closing off the possibility of a diplomatic solution.

The United States is prepared to use the full range of our capabilities to defend ourselves and our allies. One of our capabilities lies with our considerable military forces. We will use them if we must, but we prefer not to have to go in that direction.

WHY DOES THE LEFT HATE LIBERTY AND STILL BELIEVE IN SLAVERY?

dems-failSen. Bernie Sanders keeps repeating that “all Americans have a right to health care” — nice applause line, but what does it mean? There is no such right mentioned in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. Health care is not a free good — someone has to pay for it.

Do you have the obligation to pay for someone else’s health care? If so, how much and why?

The 13th Amendment to the Constitution prohibits “involuntary servitude” and slavery. At what point does a tax on someone’s labor — where the proceeds of that tax are largely used to provide income or services to others — constitute “involuntary servitude”?

At various times, many countries, including the United States, have tried to place very high tax rates on the “rich” or others — and it always fails. The “rich” withdraw their taxable labor by taking more leisure time or move to the shadow economy, or to where they are more lightly taxed.

Those who think they have the right to the labor of those they revile, i.e., the “rich,” have the same mentality of the Southern slaveholder who also thought he had the right to others’ labor.

HALF-FULL REPORT 06/30/17

most-busted-name-in-newsSchadenfreudelicious.  That’s what this week’s HFR is going to be.  But before we get to the big stuff (per the NY Post above), let’s talk about a woman named Carina Driscoll.

Born in Virginia in 1974, the daughter of Dave and Jane Driscoll, she went to college in Montana, ended up moving to Vermont where she started a woodworking school in 2007.

It struggled until a tiny little college with an enrollment of less than 200 students and an annual budget of $4 million started giving Carina’s Vermont Woodworking School – with nothing written or contractual – hundreds of thousands of dollars starting in 2009.

To understand why, we need to go back to 1981 when her mother Jane started working in the office of the Mayor of Burlington.  She started having an affair with the mayor, divorced her husband, and in 1988 married the mayor.  His name was Bernie Sanders.

Welcome to the biggest and most exciting HFR ever.  Here we go!

HIDDEN EASTERN EUROPE

Tsarevets Castle – Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria
Tsarevets Castle – Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

For some time now, you’ve been seeing our “Non-Existent Countries” in the left side bar with the picture of St. George riding a huge horse bursting out of the Caucasus Mountains.

Last week, however, our visa applications to visit two of them – Abkhazia and South Ossetia – were denied.  We figured out the reason:  Putin may be preparing another military invasion of Georgia from Russia’s occupied territory of South Ossetia.

He doesn’t want any foreigners, especially US ones, in the way.

The other two “countries that don’t exist” – Transnistria and Srpska – are fine.  US passport holders don’t even need visas to go to either. Our itinerary to both remains unchanged.

So we’re making lemonade, going to places even cooler than where we were going.

Ever hear of the Painted Monasteries in the Carpathian Mountains?

THE SOROS STATE DEPARTMENT DESTROYS ANOTHER COUNTRY

Luli Basha Edi Rama                                         Luli Basha                                                      Edi Rama

Tirana, Albania.  Let’s say you’re an Albanian.  You idolize America because Albania is the most pro-America country in the world.

You have a choice to vote for who will lead your country – a man whose hero is President Trump, or a man who despises him; a man who embraces America’s core values of individual liberty, honest work, and moral integrity, or a man who is corrupt to the core, who is deeply in bed with the drug-running mafias that control much of the economy, and whose hero and mentor is George Soros.

Look at the two pictures above.  Who would you vote for?

The election was on Sunday (6/25).   On Monday (6/26), the government here in Tirana announced that Edi Rama, the corrupt protégé of Soros, had won in a landslide, the voters humiliatingly rejecting Luli Basha, who embodies America’s values.

How could this be?

Because George Soros’ people in the US State Department enabled Rama to buy the election.

THE DEMOCRAT PARTY IS DOOMED

  1. The Democrat establishment has vortexed the party's narrative energy into hysteria about Russia (a state with a lower GDP than South Korea).

dem-post-election-strategiesIt is starkly obvious that were it not for this hysteria, insurgent narratives of the type promoted by Bernie Sanders would rapidly dominate the party's base and its relationship with the public.

Without the "We didn't lose--Russia won" narrative, the party's elite and those who exist under its patronage would be purged for being electorally incompetent and ideologically passé.  The collapse of the Democrat vote over the last eight years is at every level, city, state, Congressional and now, presidential.

Yet this narrative has reached a dead end – and thus so has the Democrat Party as a political institution.

TRUMP DERANGEMENT IS ALL THE DEMOCRATS HAVE

trump-derangementIf they weren’t trying to destroy the president, Democrats would have to focus on an agenda most Americans don’t support.

By 1968, voters had tired of the failed Great Society of Lyndon Johnson. Four years later, the 1972 Nixon reelection re-emphasized that a doubled-down McGovern liberalism was even less of a viable agenda.

In that context, in 1974, obsessing on Watergate and a demonized Nixon were wise liberal alternatives to running on a positive left-wing vision, given the growing conservative backlash of the 1970s.  After Watergate and the Ford pardon, Jimmy Carter squeaked to a close victory and a one-term presidency — before the country tired of his strident liberalism poorly cloaked in conservative clothing.

Given this historical reminder, the current efforts at Trump character assassination may be the best — or only — progressive pathway back to political power.  Here is why – in excruciating (for Democrats) detail.
