REVOLUTIONARY CONSTITUTIONALISM AND DECLARATIONS OF DEFIANCE

At the end of 2014, it is clear that our constitutional order is breaking down.

Whether by Alinskyite design, the cowardice of the GOP Elite, or a sense of hopelessness by people in general, the barbarians are at the constitutional gates and are rabidly tearing them down.

Barbarians celebrating the murder of two NYPD police are marching down 5th Avenue in New York today (12/24), while barbarians in the Zero White House have issued over one thousand two hundred unconstitutional "regulations" to further suffocate our freedom in just the last two weeks.  Our Barbarian-in-Chief rules by executive decree without any concern for the Constitution he swore to uphold.

There is no normal way to fix this.  Our country's political and cultural situation has become so dire that only a radical, indeed revolutionary fix will do.  This can be done, however, without the violence of a Second American Revolution, but constitutionally, fully within America's founding legal framework.

That is, rather than another Revolution, what we need is a revolutionary interpretation of the Constitution, "revolutionary" only in the context of how far we have strayed from its original meaning.  Here's how to go about it.

THE ILLUSION OF PERFECT HAPPINESS

There is a great misunderstanding about what it means to live a happy life, and it can be summed up in the popular symbol of the smiley face.

Now, I like to smile. I love feeling that kind of glowing, delighted state of emotional bliss. It's wonderful to be full of joy and love and laughter. But feeling those things doesn't in and of itself make for a happy life; and just because we don't happen to feel them in the moment doesn't mean we are unhappy.

In fact, if simply feeling those emotions all the time was what constituted happiness, and if Aristotle was correct in saying that, "Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence," then it would be a simple matter to find the right combination of drugs that would perpetually bathe our neurons with joyful chemicals, and we could all be perpetually happy and fulfill the aim and end of our existence.

But this smiley face view of happiness is a mistake. Here's why.

THE IRANIAN DEAL FANTASY

What sort of deal is being concocted between Obama and the Iranian regime?  Pundits, experts, reporters, and pols are weighing in on epiphenomena ranging from the number of Iranian centrifuges that will be allowed to how quickly or slowly the remaining sanctions will be lifted.

Here in Washington the "inside story" that has been circulating for more than a week is: the deal is all done and it will be announced before the 24th, the nominal deadline for the negotiations on a "permanent" agreement.

I've been here since 1977, approaching forty years, and "inside stories" have been wrong...almost always.  Say 80-90 percent of the time.  That's because the "information" is circulated to advance or sabotage policies or individuals, not to inform.  So I don't pay much attention to such stories.

Especially when it comes to Iran, there's always a considerable amount that we don't know and aren't going to know, so it's best to be tentative.

But we do know some things, and there is an historical record that is pretty consistent, so let's go with that stuff.

HOW TO WORRY EFFECTIVELY

All of us think about what's going to happen in the future.  The more accurately we can estimate what is likely to happen, the more effective we can be in navigating the course ahead.

There is a downside, however. Since we can anticipate what may happen in the future, this also allows us to worry about the future. And we tend to give our imaginations more credit than they deserve.

Anticipating events to come so that we can take effective action is invaluable. But worry is a different animal; worry is what we do when we don't know what to do, when we don't have enough information, or when events are outside of our control.  Here's how to worry more effectively.

THE WORLDWIDE PROBLEM OF TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT

The International Monetary Fund announced this past week that it expects world GDP growth to be only 2.9 percent this year. This is below the 3.2 percent in 2012, which was below the 30-year average of about 3.6 percent, and far below the one-of-the-best recent four-year periods, from 2004 to 2007, when it averaged 5.1 percent.

The differences may seem small, but the rate of GDP growth determines how quickly global poverty declines and real incomes rise.

Real global growth has declined owing to government spending growing faster than the private sector in much of the world, mounting environmental and financial regulation whose costs far exceed the benefits, and monetary policies forcing misallocation of capital in the major economies.

In other words, what's wrong with America's economy is not unique -- it's what's wrong with much of the entire world.

THESE ARE THE BOYS OF PONT-DU-HOC

On June 6th, 1984, the greatest president of modern times, Ronald Reagan, delivered this magnificent speech at Pont-du-Hoc, on the 40th anniversary of the D-Day Normandy Landing.  Today is the 69th anniversary of that unparalleled example of American courage.

TO THE SHORES OF TRIPOLI

Folks, here I am in the mountains of the Bangladesh-Burma border with Christian tribal people, and I just got word that the permits I've been trying to secure to visit Libya have been approved.

This is serious short notice, for the permits allow me to bring a small group of TTPers to Libya for one week next month:  Saturday, October 20 to Saturday, October 28.

The place is going gangbusters economically, as oil production is now exceeding pre-revolution 2009 levels of 1.6 million barrels a day.  Politically, things are still in flux, as many sectors of society are trying to cooperate in thwarting Islamist efforts to hijack the Libyan Spring.

It's going to be fascinating to watch this playing out first-hand - and in safety.  We'll be well taken care of.

We'll see what's happening in both Tripoli and Benghazi; visit Berber villages up in the Nafusa Mountains, the best-preserved Roman ruins on the planet, and the center of the unique form of moderate Libyan Islam; investigate business opportunities, and see what direction post-Gaddafi Libya is heading.

The hotels are nice, the food is good, the people are friendly, and we are going to have an extraordinary time.  The schedule and details are below.  Appended at the end is A Note on the History of Libya - consider it your initial Libya briefing.

THE DOUBLE-D CASH OPTION

Jack's Double-D strategy - Defund and Disobey - requires positive actions to make it a reality. Here is one simple, safe, costless, and effective step that you can personally take every day:

Pay cash for all small business transactions. This empowers the recipient to decide for himself whether the Federalies deserve any part of that cash income.

This is a zero-cost zero-risk strategy for the payor. When you pay cash to a small business, you empower them to decide for themselves whether to fund the cancer that is devouring America.

This won't work when you purchase from a big business or a chain; if you purchase a case of paper at Staples, their income will be reported whether you pay by credit card, debit card, check, or cash.

The situation is entirely different when you are dealing with a small business. When you purchase a dinner at an independent small business restaurant, pay cash, both for the tip and for the meal. If you pay via plastic or check, there will be a paper trail that will require the wise owner to report the income. If you pay cash, you empower the owner (and the waitress) to defund and disobey.

THE GOOGLE DROID: and Other Thoughts From Scottsdale

Even though I'm on vacation in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona, I can't resist telling you about the latest techie innovations.

Recently a new phone was made available to Verizon customers in two models with a new Droid OS from Google. At first look it is quite an impressive smart phone. The two models covered are the Motorola models that flip open to reveal a keypad, and the Eris, which is a touch screen accessible device, similar to the iPhone.

The Motorola Droid has a slide out keypad and is presented with 24 bit color ( 16.7 million ) and the Eris has 16 bit colors with ( 65,536 ). The HTC Droid Eris has a 528 MHz MSM7600 processor with 147 MB of memory.  The Motorola Droid has the 550 MHz ARM Cortex A8 with 256 MB of memory.

It is only a matter of time before different versions of the Droid OS will make it to additional US carriers. Hopefully other carriers will not do what Verizon has handed to their customers.

MICROSOFT ONENOTE: The Best Personal Organizer

Many programs have been written over the years to help computer users organize their contacts, to-do lists, notes and progress, to link Web sites to certain topics, and to offer a variety of other activities.

These programs include Microsoft Outlook itself.

In recent years, however, the demands on such programs have become increasingly severe, including video, audio, sharing content and allowing others to revise content with all the revision capabilities of Microsoft Word.

It is unusual for Microsoft to get something right the first time, but the program I use very successfully is Microsoft OneNote, an add-on to Microsoft Office.  If you aren't a Premium Subscriber to Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Downloads, as I am, you can buy it separately at $99.

It is well worth the money.  Here's why.

Chapter Twenty-Seven: “I SHALL CUT OFF CORTEZ’S EARS!”

The Jade Steps
Chapter Twenty-Seven:  "I Shall Cut Off Cortez's Ears!"

Over the next several weeks, the Spaniards marveled at how the Mesheeka accepted the loss of their gods.  Perhaps, they surmised, it was because the Mesheeka had been taught by their priests that if the gods were not fed the blood of human hearts, the sun would not rise and the world would collapse into darkness and chaos.

Day after day, week after week, there were no sacrifices and the sun kept rising.  Maybe the priests were wrong.  Maybe the new gods of the strangers were more powerful than the ones of old.  Malinali heard these whispers, and did her best to encourage these thoughts among the Mesheeka.

Then one afternoon, a worried Orteguilla came to see Malinali.

"Doña Marina, I am afraid Montezuma is plotting something.  He has been having meetings in secret with several of his nobles, which I am not allowed to hear.  He keeps talking about how he must be free of his prison so he can perform the ceremonies of Tlacaxipeualiztli (tlah-kashee-pay-ooh-ah-leesh-tlee).  What does this mean?"

"It means the Aztec month of Tlacaxipeualiztli is about to begin.  Sacrifices must be made to the god Xipe so plants will grow.  Montezuma and the highest nobles must impersonate the gods in a sacred dance wearing a particular costume."

She paused, sighed, and put her hand gently on the young boy's.  "Thank you, Orteguilla, for coming to me and telling me of this.  The costume Montezuma and the nobles wear for the dance is made of human skins, flayed from the bodies of captives.  Tlacaxipeualiztli means The Flaying of Men."

CONDI AND ARLEN

The nightmare of a PIAPS Presidency - Hillary - trumps all other considerations for me. Should she be the Democrat nominee, there is only one GOP candidate who could defeat her: Condi.

For others - like my friends Rod Martin and Joe Farah - what trumps all considerations of being for Condi is that she is, however “mildly” or “reluctantly,” pro-abortion. I believe they would agree to choose Condi over Hillary any day if that were the only choice. Where we disagree is that they think some other GOP candidate, and one who is staunchly pro-life, could also beat Hillary. I have deep doubts. I think Condi is the only one who could do so.

But who knows? She’s very untested as a candidate. 2008 is a long way off. What’s important is to make it unimportant what Condi’s or any other candidates’ position on abortion is. The goal should be to have new pro-life Supreme Court Justices in place by the end of GW’s second term, giving the Court a pro-life majority that the next occupant of the White House can do nothing about, and will overturn Roe v. Wade.

Which brings us to Arlen Specter.

FRANCIS IS A FRAUD

Last week (5/19), Mary Anastasia O'Grady commented in the Wall Street Journal on The Pope's Embrace of Castro.

She noted that "The Holy Father is a native of 20th-century Argentina, ideologically defined by nationalism, socialism, corporatism and anti-Americanism. It wouldn't be surprising to learn that this influences his views toward the U.S. and the island 90 miles from its shores."

Yet there are many Argentines who are not so influenced and who can think for themselves.  As a life-long devout Catholic, it pains me to observe this is not the case with Francis.  As a result, he is a papal fraud.

In matters of the cloth, good Catholics always seek a vision of Saint Peter's earthly successor as a man of goodness and spirituality -- as God's anointed emissary on earth goodwill will be done. Sadly, this is not always true.

There are many realities past where the Pope simply was neither devout in his vows nor divinely blessed to do God's will on earth for all mankind.

Today we have such a man who is radical to the traditions of the church, and instinctively biased against the teaching and strength of character of his two predecessors, Popes Benedict XVI and John Paul II.

HALF-FULL REPORT 05/08/15

you_cant_draw_me.png

This was the winning entry in the Draw Mohammed Contest in Garland, Texas last weekend, drawn by artist Bosch Fawstin,  He was one of the 300 attendees of the contest that a pair of Moslem retards - let's abbreviate that to "motards," like we do with "libtards" for both are morally retarded - were attempting to mass murder and were thankfully gunned down before they could.

Jack Kelly's appellation for the libtard media is The Lying Swine, and their reaction to the motard terrorism at Garland perfectly shows why. Instead of condemning the terrorists, they hysterically condemned the woman who organized the contest for "provoking" them.

She's obviously the HFR Hero of the Week...

There's more good news this week - lots of it.  One reason is another lady mensch who is also "making the right enemies."  That would be just-announced (5/04) presidential candidate Carly Fiorina.  You won't believe how she took down late night host Seth Meyers on Tuesday (5/05)...

I like Carly and loathe The PIAPS -- as do guerrilla artists in LA.  You'll love their art work...

I've always thought that Mrs. Clinton was morally retarded. More so than her husband, but unlike him, politically stupid and eternally unlovable  To be evil, diabolically evil, is, however, in another human dimension.  Vladimir Putin provided yet another example this week that this is what he is...

There's much more in this HFR, but you have to read it to get to it.

ABOLISH THE IRS!

Abolish the Internal Revenue Service? IRS Commissioner John Koskinen has said the government must have an IRS to collect the taxes to fund the government.

Mr. Koskinen is right that no matter what kind of tax system we have, there needs to be a tax collection bureau. But those in favor of abolishing the present IRS are correct in that the United States certainly can get along perfectly well without the politicized, abusive and rights-trampling tax agency the IRS has become.

There is simply no excuse for much of what the IRS does. IRS agents complain that nobody likes them and they are shunned when they go to parties. Count me as one who is not sympathetic.

Some IRS workers claim they are there for patriotic reasons because someone has to raise the revenue to keep the government going.  Here's a question to ask them:

What if IRS agents went on strike - as real patriots - to demand that the monies they collect would no longer be used for political payoffs, mismanaged programs and unconstitutional activities?
