THIS IS NO ACCIDENT, COMRADES

Ever since he was inaugurated in January 2009, inheriting an economic basket case from his predecessor, Zero has done the absolute exact opposite of Ronald Reagan - which is why he is failing.  Or is he?

He is certainly failing at re-launching the American economy.  But what if he defines his success to the extent he makes our economy worse, not better?  Yes, as someone who is not an actual American, someone who truly and deeply hates our country, his goal is to ruin America as much as he can.

Yet this goal dovetails with that of the Democrat Party's:  the continuance and expansion of its political power.  A Second Great Depression is the Democrat Party's path to power.

Are you thinking, aha, but wait until November 2nd?  We'll kick these evil Dems out and spoil their dream!  Electoral retribution this November is our dream.  What could the Dems do to spoil it?

I have lost count now of the number of predictions being made of a GOP "tsunami" in November.  Serious political analysts, soberly and without hyperbole, are saying that Dem losses in the House, Senate, Governor's mansions, et al, are likely to be of "historic" proportions.

And every one of them unfailingly comes with a caveat, something along the lines of, "barring some huge unexpected disaster for the GOP."  Now, if you were Rahm Emanuel, what would that caveat cause you to think about?

RED HERRING SCAPEGOAT?

Topping my personal list of mondo bizarro stories this week was the headline in papers all over the country, Ex-Congressman Charged in Terror Case.  The story reveals that:

Former congressman from Michigan Mark Siljander was indicted Wednesday (1/16) as being part of a terrorist fundraising ring that allegedly sent more than $130,000 to an al-Qaeda and Taliban supporter. He's accused of lying about lobbying on behalf of an Islamic charity (The Islamic American Relief Agency or IARA) that was accused of sending funds to terrorists... The government accuses IARA of sending approximately $130,000 to help Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, whom the United States has designated a global terrorist..
I knew Mark quite well when he was in Congress (1981-86), and know he despised Gulbuddin.  Although I haven't seen him in some time, for Mark to be caught in a scam not just with a terrorist fundraising ring, but the terrorist being Gulbuddin, is just off the wall.

So one question to ask is:  where did the IARA get the $130,000 to send to Gulbuddin?

Turns out the Islamic charity got the money from the US government:  USAID, the US Agency for International Development.

SHUT YOUR MOUTH: The Democrat Fascist Assault on the First Amendment

The conservative "activist" community here in Washington got itself into a foaming lather last week over the attempt by Senate Democrats to subject their activities to criminal penalties.

Section 220 of the S.1 "lobbying reform" bill required all activists - even bloggers on the internet - who communicate in any way with 500 or more members of "the public" to register and file reports with the government as lobbyists, and face criminal penalties including heavy fines and one year in jail if they fail to do so.

It was a straightforward and outrageous assault on the First Amendment, true blue fascism embedded right in the very first Senate bill in our new Democrat-controlled Congress.  The New York Times had nary a word of complaint, nor did the rest of the major media.

Yet it was simply the latest example of the assault Democrats are making on our 1st Amendment free speech rights across the board.  For their "lobbying reform" is part of a growing comprehensive effort to silence and criminalize speech liberals don't like.

A WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY

9/11 happened when Osama bin Laden looked at us, and thought we were ready to be had. We were politically divided, and squabbling over everything. We clearly were not prepared to take casualties in direct combat. The newly elected president seemed unable to make a tough decision.

And so Osama attacked, expecting to deliver a decisive blow to our national will, expecting we would turn tail and run, as we had in Somalia, and expecting he would then be free to concentrate his energies on the defeat of local apostates, the creation of his caliphate, and the organization of Muslim revenge for the catastrophes of past centuries.

IMAGE ANGST

“The latest Service Pack for Windows XP - Service Pack 2 (SP2) - is all about security.” So began the blurb Microsoft sent out in 2004 urging users to install their latest security innovation.

Tired of ever-repeating mini-scandals in which hackers discovered security holes in Windows that could be exploited by viruses, the company developed a “super secure” package for Windows XP that would make it nigh impossible for pimply faced kids to remotely take over your machine for their nefarious slacker purposes.
And it worked, at least for a while. Now your computer is vulnerable to the “WMF bug,” which can give a hacker total access to your computer if you click on an image in an email.

A VIRTUOSO OF MALICIOUS INTENT

Since he assumed office nearly six years ago, US President Barack Hussein Obama has been dogged by allegations of managerial incompetence. Obama, his critics allege, had no managerial experience before he was elected. His lack of such experience, they claim, is reflected in what they see as his incompetent handling of the challenges of the presidency.

In everything from dealing with the Congress, to reining in radical ideologues at the IRS, to handling the chaos at the Mexican border, to putting together coordinated strategies for dealing with everything from Ebola to Islamic State (IS), Obama's critics claim that he is out of his league. That he is incompetent.

But if Israel's experience with him is any guide, then his critics are the ones who are out to sea. Because at least in his handling of US relations with the Jewish state, Obama has exhibited a mastery of the tools of the executive branch unmatched by most of his predecessors.

Obama is a master of mendacity, a virtuoso of malciousness.  Consider two recent news stories:

HALF-FULL REPORT 06/13/14

Windhoek, Namibia.  A merry Friday the 13th to you from the cleanest, friendliest, most pleasant capital in all of Africa.  The best pub with the best beer and the best steaks in all Africa is here as well - Joe's Beerhouse - which makes Windhoek especially enjoyable.

I'm here a day early for my Hidden Africa safari so I can pen the HFR.  So much has happened this week with events continuing to unfold that there are more questions than answers.

For example:  How come a ragtag bunch of jihadist loonies naming themselves with cosmic irony after the Mother Goddess of Ancient Egypt - Isis - i.e., the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria acronymed ISIS, is suddenly on the verge of taking over Baghdad but not Damascus?

This is a monumental disaster laid directly at Zero's feet.  Are there any silver linings, other than it will increase the loathing and contempt millions of Americans are feeling towards him?  Yes, there are several.  First is it helps the Kurds...

...Here's another question of the week:  Has Mexico declared war on America or has Obama?

The answer is Yes.

THE CRIME OF CIVIL ASSET FORFEITURE LAWS

Do you think the Internal Revenue Service and other government agencies should have the right to seize your assets, including your bank accounts, when you have not been convicted of wrongdoing?

The fact is, the IRS and other government agencies do this all the time, and often without even a formal accusation of wrongdoing.

Thus, in criminal cases, the government has to convince a judge and jury beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime has been committed. Under civil asset-forfeiture laws, no such proof is required -- and, as a result, many innocent people have had their property taken by agents of the federal government.

Anyone who is awake knows that the IRS has been politicized -- and thus critics of the administration live in fear that their property will be taken for the mere act of speaking out against the government.  There is only one solution.

TWO AMERICAS

The Democrats are right, there are two Americas.

The America that works, and the America that doesn't. The America that contributes, and the America that doesn't.

It's not the haves and the have nots, it's the dos and the don'ts. Some people do their duty as Americans, to obey the law and support themselves and contribute to society, and others don't.

That's the divide in America. It's not about income inequality, it's about civic irresponsibility. It's about a political party that preaches hatred, greed and victimization in order to win elective office. It's about a political party that loves power more than it loves its country.

The politics of envy was on proud display when the president said he would pledge the rest of his term to fighting "income inequality." He notes that some people make more than other people, that some people have higher incomes than others, and he says that's not just.

It is the rationale of thievery. The other guy has it, you want it, Obama will take it for you. Vote Democrat.

THE POLITICS OF HUMAN SACRIFICE

"What the liberal-left really wants is not for justice to be done and seen to be done, but rather for a sacrificial victim to be immolated on the pyre of racial grievance, resentment, and entitlement. Very few of those out on the streets protesting are worried in the slightest about whether or not Zimmerman is genuinely guilty of a crime. The symbolism is all that matters: Zimmerman was white; Trayvon was black." -James Delingpole, London Telegraph

This is because the Left practices the politics of human sacrifice.  The term "human sacrifice" brings up images of primitive tribes, like that so graphically and accurately depicted in the movie Apocalypto.

The culture of the Left is also based on primitive sacrifice.  The sacrifice the Left is demanding for Zimmerman - that he be "immolated on the pyre of racial grievance" - is not metaphorical.  The Left wants him physically killed - either by vigilante lynching or in a prison's electric chair.  We think our culture has "evolved" far beyond the primitive practices of human sacrifice, cannibalism, and however recently, slavery.  But it has not - not as far as the Left is concerned.

We make fun or sadly shake our heads in pity of illiterates like Rachel "I've got a 3.0" Jeantel, or rioting "I am Trayvon" inner city morons - but the truth is that the real jungle bunnies with bones through their noses are the white "intellectuals" of the Left. who teach in Ivy League Universities and write editorials in the New York Times.

Although they consider themselves to be in the progressive vanguard of sophisticated contemporary thought, their belief system is atavistic, a regression to a primitive tribal belief in Black Magic.

THE COMING NIGHTMARE OF CRACK NICOTINE

On Monday, June 21, the demented state legislature in Albany passed a bill increasing cigarette taxes.  A pack of smokes will average $9.60 across the state, and will be $11 a pack -  $11 for a single pack of cigarettes - in New York City.

This is not only pro-smuggling, it is pro-terrorist.  Who do you think runs the most lucrative cigarette smuggling operations from Virginia and the South into New York?  Hezbollah and Al Qaeda.  The higher taxes will mean higher profits for them, which they will use to kill Israelis and Americans in Afghanistan.

The state legislators who voted for the taxes should be tried for aiding and abetting terrorism for this alone.  But the consequences could be vastly worse.  New York's new tobacco tax law is an example of the Law of Unintended Consequences run amok.  It's the coming nightmare of Crack Nicotine.

CELEBRATING BLUE, CO2, AND THE RENDEZVOUS

Hear that wonderfully melodious sound?  It's the crack-up of Global Warming, the Left's crazed attempt to seize global power after the failure of Marxism crashing and burning.  2008 is starting off just right.

A tip off that it's over for the eco-wackos was the announcement of the Pantone color mavens that green is passé for 2008, that the hip color is blue - as in blue skies, no clouds, no rain, just sunshine and deep blue sky.

Then on New Years Day, the liberal bastion itself, the New York Times, scandalously ridiculed glowarmers, calling them "availability entrepreneurs," sneering at them as

"the activists, journalists and publicity-savvy scientists who selectively monitor the globe looking for newsworthy evidence of a new form of sinfulness, burning fossil fuels."

When the New York Times laughs at glowarmers - well, it's like Global Warming is so over.   So it's time to start celebrating CO2.  I have a really good suggestion on how to do so.

RED STATE LOUISIANA

Washington politics can be so much fun if you look upon them as the world's best circus.  This week's clown act was hilariously performed by the Breck Boy, John Edwards, announcing his candidacy for the presidency in the 9th Ward of New Orleans.

It was especially funny for me, as I was in New Orleans at the time for New Year's.  The 9th Ward was the area most devastated by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005.  The day after Edwards' appearance, I drove my son Jackson through it.

Endless block after block after block, street after street after street, the small cottage homes are unlivable and abandoned.  At the most, one home out of every two or three dozen is repaired and occupied.

Even many of these, however, have only cosmetic repairs covering up irreparable damage from mold.  After all, all these homes were under water for weeks.  Thousands upon thousands of homes that have to be torn down are still standing because Mayor Ray Nagin insists they be rebuilt - which they never will be.

What he can't face, what John Edwards can't face, is that the corrupt heart of Democrat control of Louisiana - New Orleans' 9th Ward - is gone.

THE SAME WAR

No one should have any lingering doubts about what's going on in the Middle East. It's war, and it now runs from Gaza into Israel, through Lebanon and thence to Iraq via Syria. There are different instruments, ranging from Hamas in Gaza to Hezbollah in Syria and Lebanon and on to the multifaceted "insurgency" in Iraq. But there is a common prime mover, and that is the Iranian mullahcracy, the revolutionary Islamic fascist state that declared war on us 27 years ago and has yet to be held accountable.

It is very good news that the White House immediately...

POWER IN YOUR POCKET

If you own a Palm Pilot, you've probably heard someone comment: "Hey, that's a great toy!" or "What can you do with that toy?" - The operative word being "toy."

I don't know about you, but I would take great umbrage at being accused of playing with toys. I'm as serious about my hand-held devices as anyone, and would hold my head up when I flash my Palm Pilot around.

Yet, I’m still deciding between Palm and Pocket PC.
