FRENCH TOAST

As we go to press, France is once again awash in riots.

Civil disorder actually has a long tradition there; with possibly the most notable occasion being the Revolution of 1789.

This is often compared to the American Revolution, as they occurred very closely together in time; and certainly, French support in ours was invaluable.

However, their revolution was very different in character from the American one.

The recent trouble in France began in earnest on September 17th, coinciding with a teacher’s strike. This story is evolving daily, but over a third of French high schools are now besieged in forty cities with an estimated 250,000 participants.

The protests have spread. Currently, Belgium, Greece, Ireland, Germany, Italy, and Austria are having them on a smaller scale.

What we have to remember is—as with any contemporary disorder—the alleged reason is almost never the actual one.

Intelligence on the riots is pointing towards exactly what some of us thought had to be going on from the start:

This is a further color revolution tactic being applied in France by the global Left and what is now being widely recognized as the “Red-Green Alliance” of the Left together with Islam.

Images of the rioters, and their obviously well-prepared trappings for their demonstrations, as well as their organization, make this hard to ignore; but as usual a good number of media outlets there are trying to do so.

Perhaps the utter insanity of it makes this easier for some to do.

Once the blood is mopped up and the books cool off for colder analysis many years hence, one of the greatest questions asked will be what purple-haired furries with fifty piercings, a soy diet, and a gender identity taken from forty or fifty choices thought was going to happen to them when a socioreligious ideology that throws homosexuals off of buildings and has spread brutality literally world-wide got in charge of their country.

How many times do the Moslems have to say they are there to burn the entire thing down before someone listens?

As I alluded to in a previous article, it seems to me a very fair formula to look at existing Moslem-majority countries and conclude that if a Moslem majority is in your future, the country you wind up having will probably look very similar to places where it’s already established.

Pick one.

It will almost certainly not be as egalitarian or free as a Western nation whose sociology and culture is informed by the Judeo-Christian or even a secular tradition.

How a nation can commit suicide in this fashion may be explained by events further back in its history, such as that revolution we were talking about earlier.

The French Revolution of 1789 was not one of ascendant liberty.

It was initiated by socialistic, secular ideologues that rejected Christianity and intended not just to replace the monarchy, but to destroy the upper class (aside from the ones who were in charge) and overhaul the entire nation into an autocracy, complete with new holidays and a new calendar.

Ideologically-driven power struggles devoid of principles and drunk with violence seized the nation. Thousands of people either got their heads removed industrial-style by the guillotine or were simply mown down with musketry or cannon.

The “haves” that could do so fled the violence.  The American DuPont chemical company was founded by some of them.  The rest could generally expect death.

The French are not truly possessed of a democratic spirit though that is their claim.  They are much more prone to faction and conflict than cooperation, and have lurched through violent shifts of power in which the “in” group can have everything, and the “out” group is food for the gods.

This is unfortunately typical of the European continent.  Democracy did not come naturally to that land.  The Magna Carta, and the notion that not even a king is above the law, came from England originally, and inspired our own Constitution.

The French, during the 1789 revolution, were so swept away by the urge to kill whomever was on their merde list that they seemed to forget in the last part of the act just what their revolt was supposed to have been about.

As soon as the French overthrew King Louis XVI, and cut the heads off of him and his wife, they reconsidered their supposed hatred of royalty to follow another monarch, Napoleon Bonaparte, who declared himself Emperor and took France on a military tear eastward.

This ended badly at Waterloo, and set France on a chaotic and often bloody rollercoaster ride of leadership from 1814 to 1959.

Trying to explain all of the ups, downs, and sideways would take another article.  Suffice to say, chaos was the rule.  Let’s fast forward to the World Wars.

Following their victory—and then their thrashing and occupation—in the two world wars, the Fourth Republic lasted a little over ten years and almost ended in another military coup.

It was almost brought down over a crisis in colonial Algeria; one of several French colonies in which autocratic attempts to hold power didn’t carry.

(The one we got to suffer the after-effects from the most was French Indochina, aka Vietnam.  Ho Chi Minh wasn’t originally a Communist—he just wanted the French gone.)

The shift to the latest (Fifth) Republic was in 1959. It is within a hair’s breadth of being the longest-lasting government, but only if collapse can be staved off a bit longer before a Sixth Republic—consisting of Heaven knows what—gets established.

I say all of this to point out that the arrival of the Red-Green Alliance, which is in bed with the existing French Left, isn’t in this sense a historical aberration, but rather a continuation of a fractious, violent rollercoaster ride throughout history in which the latest arrivals are going to fit right in without too much trouble.

The fact that so many of them are Moslems may be the most interesting cultural detail.

This may speak to how they have infiltrated France and had so much to do with the country while apparently not enough people could recognize where all of this was headed.

Being a radical, anti-establishment bomb thrower in this place isn’t anything new.

So, the witch’s brew that is now France consists of:

  • A population whose only real concept of “democracy” (being defined as outcomes that are democratic and not just process) has been socialism.
  • A history of violent faction and rule by despots.
  • A governmental and social culture that has never really “settled” into what we call a winning formula.
  • And now, thanks to their importation of millions of Moslems (who, like them, also have a history of singling out disliked people to remove their heads), a possibility of a very real multifront social and political revolution that will not only erase France’s political order, but also erase them as being a Western country.

Finally, we strongly suspect all of this is orchestrated.

To right the troubled French ship at this point will take, not only a historical miracle and a national transformation of will and focus, but a very strong leader and, in all probability, the largest-yet round of autocracy and worse—the most seen since 1789.

The troublemakers will neither cease and desist nor leave without a fight.  It is going to be impossible to reconcile that with the sensibilities and structure of the European Union, the WEF, or anyone else of consequence in the world’s intelligentsia.

If I were French and wanted to be part of a country with any sense of stability and Western normalcy, I’d be making an escape plan.

  1. France, and the rest of Europe, except Hungary, are already past the point of no return. That’ll take Hungary too, unless Russia saves them and Bulgaria.

England has actually been our enemy since the early 18th century. We’ve made common cause against rival tyrants, but they never ceased being one. Of course, we share a common language.

We need to get out of NATO ASAP! And never look back!
